Laura Samuel
Laura Samuel (born 19 February 1991) is a British track and field athlete who competes in the triple jump. She has a personal best of for the event, which ranks her third among British women. She was the silver medallist at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and also the 2010 World Junior Championships in Athletics. Career Born in Leicester, she became involved in athletics while at primary school becoming interested after local coaches visited the pupils there. She joined the Leicester Coritanian Athletics Club and later joined Loughborough University's athletics team, when she began studying there. Initially Samuel focused on short sprinting events, but by 2007 she had begun to focus more on long jump. She won in that discipline at the 2007 English Schools Championships and was runner-up the following year. Dailenys Alcántara Pacheco (born 10 August 1991) is a Cuban track and field athlete who competes in the triple jump and occasionally the long jump. She was the 2007 World Youth champion then became the first person to win two straight triple jump title at the World Junior Championships in Athletics (2008 and 2010). She represented Cuba at the 2011 World Championships in Athletics. Career Born in Santiago de Cuba, Alcántara's talent for track and field was identified at a young age. Ashia Hansen, (born 5 December 1971) is a retired British triple jumper. Fourth in the 1996 Olympic final, she broke the world indoor record when winning the 1998 European Indoor title, and went on to win gold medals at the World Indoor Championships in 1999 and 2003, at the Commonwealth Games in 1998 and 2002, and at the 2002 European Championships. Kimberly Williams (born 3 November 1988) is a Jamaican triple jumper. She is a multiple time Jamaican National Champion. She was successful as a youth athlete, winning the 2003 CARIFTA Games (under 17 division) as a 14 year old. She was runner up at the 2007 Pan American Junior Athletics Championships. Later, she jumped for Florida State University and was a four time NCAA Champion. By the time she graduated in 2012, she was "the most decorated women's track and field athlete in Florida State history." She is the 2014 Commonwealth Games champion in the triple jump. Yamilé Aldama Pozo (; born 14 August 1972) is a Cuban-born triple jumper. She represented Cuba until 2003, Sudan from 2004 to 2010, then Great Britain from 2011 onwards.
