Laura Elvig
Laura Christine Theodora Elvig (August 10, 1860 – April 17, 1935) was a Norwegian actress. Family Laura Elvig was the daughter of the schoolteacher Ole Elvig and Karen Svendsen. On January 18, 1881 she married the actor Berent Johan Tunæs Johannessen (1859–1907). Their daughter Svanhild Johannessen married the actor Hauk Aabel, and their daughter Borghild Johannessen married the actor Thoralf Klouman. Laura Elvig was the grandmother of the actors Per Aabel and Andreas Aabel, the actress Wenche Klouman, and the pianist Carsten Klouman. Career Elvig appeared on stage in her birthplace of Bergen in the 1870s. Among other roles, she performed as of Hilda Rummel in ''The Pillars of Society'' by Henrik Ibsen in 1877 at the Comedy House. By her seventieth birthday in 1930, she was the executive producer at the National Theater. Carsten Klouman
Carsten Klouman (21 August 1923 – 2 July 2004) was born in Oslo and was a Norwegian pianist, arranger and composer. He was the son of the actor Thoralf Klouman and the actress Borghild Johannessen. He was a jazz pianist in the group String Swing and Jolly Seven, he led the Carsten Klouman Trio in 1954 with Frank Cook and Tore Birkedal before becoming musical director of the NRK Radio Orchestra and conducting the Norwegian Eurovision Song Contest entries on five occasions 1972, 1973, 1975, 1977 and 1978. In 1988 he became chairman for TONO. Émile De Najac
Comte Émile de Najac (December 1828 – 11 April 1889) was a French librettist. He was a prolific writer during the Second Empire and early part of the Third Republic, supplying plays and opéra comique librettos, many in one act. Biography Émile de Najac was born in Lorient, France, the descendant of naval commander and bonapartist Benoît Georges de Najac. His son Raoul Charles Eugène was also a writer for the stage. Najac died in Paris on 11 April 1889. The National Theatre in Oslo ( no, Nationaltheatret) is one of Norway's largest and most prominent venues for performance of dramatic arts. History The theatre had its first performance on 1 September 1899 but can trace its origins to Christiania Theatre, which was founded in 1829. ''The Pillars of Society'' (or "Pillars of the Community"; original Norwegian title: ''Samfundets støtter'') is an 1877 play written by Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen. Ibsen had great trouble with the writing of this play. The ending is the most criticized feature, since Bernick is clearly guilty of attempted murder but gets off unscathed, but successfully illustrates that the rich and powerful are often selfish and corrupt. Ibsen first planned a contemporary drama at the end of 1869 but did not begin writing until October 1875 (in Munich), completing it in the summer of 1877. It was first published on 11 October of that year in Copenhagen, with the first stagings following on 14 November at the Odense Teater and on 18 November at the Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen. Wenche Klouman
Wenche Klouman (May 11, 1918 – February 8, 2009) was a Norwegian actress. Family Klouman was born in Kristiania (now Oslo), the daughter of the actor and illustrator Thoralf Klouman and the actress Borghild Johannessen. She was the sister of the musician Carsten Klouman. Her grandfather Bernt Johannessen was a prominent actor at the National Theater in Bergen in the second half of the 19th century; he was also the grandfather of the actor Per Aabel, the son of the comedian Hauk Aabel and Svanhild Johannessen, the sister of Borghild Johannessen. Klouman was married to the actor Karl-Ludvig Bugge from 1943 to 1948, and then to Finn Rønneberg Kerr from 1950 until his death in 2001.
