Laura Citarella
Laura Citarella (born 1981) is an Argentine film director and producer. She has been noted as an emerging voice of the "New Argentine Cinema movement" or el Nuevo Cine Argentino. She is a core producer at the indie production company El Pampero Cine, and produced La flor, which at 868 minutes, currently holds the record for the longest running Argentine film in history. Early life and education Citarella was born in 1981 in La Plata, Argentina. She completed high school at Carlos N. Vergara in La Plata, Argentina and went on to attend the Universidad del Cine, from which she graduated with a degree in film directing in 2004. Career Teaching Aside from making films, Citarella also teaches at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata (UNLP), where runs a thesis workshop focused on scriptwriting. ''La Flor'' (English: ''The Flower'') is a 2018 Argentine film written and directed by Mariano Llinás. With a length of 808 minutes excluding intermissions, it is the longest film in the history of Argentine cinema. The film is a joint project by the production group El Pampero Cine and the acting company Piel de Lava, made up of actresses Elisa Carricajo, Valeria Correa, Pilar Gamboa, and Laura Paredes. It premiered at the Buenos Aires International Festival of Independent Cinema. Plot ''La Flor'' is broken into six separate episodes, connected only by an on-screen appearance by Llinás explaining the film's structure. The first four episodes have the beginning of a story but finish '' in medias res'' (Classical Latin: "in the middle of things"). The fifth episode is the only one to proceed from start to end, and the last episode is only conclusion of a story. Verónica Llinás (born September 23, 1960) is an Argentine film, television and theatre actress. She is the daughter of the writer Julio Llinás and the painter Martha Peluffo and sister of Sebastián Llinás and the film director Mariano Llinás. The International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) is an annual film festival held at the end of January in various locations in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
