Laughing Horse
Laughing Horse is a British comedy promotion company and venue operator. The company was established in the UK in 1998, and now operates venues in Aldershot, Brighton, Cirencester, Hitchin, London (Brixton, Covent Garden, Lancaster Gate, Paddington), Manchester, St Neots, Thetford and Wyboston. They run three venues at Brighton Fringe, seventeen at Edinburgh Fringe and also have a presence at the Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne Fringes. It is run by Alex Petty and Kevin McCarron. At Edinburgh, they have run the Free Edinburgh Fringe Festival since 2004. At these shows, audiences do not have to buy tickets. They simply pay what they choose as a donation at the end of the show. From 2001-2018, they ran the Laughing Horse New Act of the Year competition, which was won by several famous British comedians at early stages of their career. Sofie Hagen
Sofie Hagen (born November 10, 1988) is a Danish comedian, author, podcaster, fashion designer, and fat acceptance campaigner. They have toured with comedy shows, released a book and hosted and co-hosted a number of podcasts. Biography Sofie Hagen was born in Denmark, on 10 November 1988. Hagen started doing stand-up in Danish in 2010, in Copenhagen. In 2012, Hagen performed on Danish TV show ''Zulu Comedy Galla''. Hagen moved to London in September 2012 to perform regular comedy. Adelaide Fringe
Adelaide Fringe, formerly Adelaide Fringe Festival, is Australia’s biggest arts festival and is the world's second-largest annual arts festival (after the Edinburgh Festival Fringe), held in the South Australian capital of Adelaide. Between mid-February and mid-March each year, it features more than 7,000 artists from around Australia and the world. Over 1,300 events are staged in hundreds of venues, which include work in a huge variety of performing and visual art forms. Bobby Mair is a Canadian stand-up comedian based in London, England. Daniel Rigby (born 6 December 1982) is an English actor and comedian. He received a BAFTA TV Award for his leading role as Eric Morecambe in the 2011 BBC television film '' Eric and Ernie''. Marek Ryan Larwood (born 2 June 1976) is an English comedian, actor and YouTuber. He is best known for the BBC Three sketch show ''Rush Hour'' and for being one third of the comedy trio '' We Are Klang''. BBC New Comedy Award
The BBC New Comedy Award first took place in 1995, and it is considered to be one of the top UK comedy newcomer awards. It was axed in 2006, being replaced by a nationwide talent hunt that places its emphasis on sketch writing and filmed performance. However, in March 2011 the BBC Radio New Comedy Award was relaunched in conjunction with BBC Radio 2, and ran as a joint project between Radio 2 and BBC Radio 4 Extra. The arrangement was for Radio 4 Extra to broadcast the heats and semi-finals of the contest, whilst Radio 2 (later Radio 4) broadcasts the live final. The 2021 series moved online to BBC Three, with a repeat broadcast on BBC One. By the 2022 contest, BBC Three had returned to terrestrial TV, so the heats were aired on that channel and the final aired on BBC One. Carl Donnelly (born 13 January 1982 in Tooting, south London) is an English stand-up, dancer, comedian, and writer. He has performed 11 solo shows at the Edinburgh Festival, being nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Awards twice - once for best newcomer, and once for best show. Nina Margarita Conti (born 25 August 1973) is a British actress, comedian, and ventriloquist. Early life Conti was born and grew up in Hampstead, London, the daughter of actors Tom Conti and Kara Wilson. She attended King Alfred School, London, and graduated with a first class honours degree in philosophy from the University of East Anglia in 1995.
