The album was produced by Will Putney, producer and guitarist for the bands END and Fit for an Autopsy, in Belleville, New Jersey Belleville (French: "Belle ville" meaning "beautiful town") is a township in Essex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. Knocked Loose is an American hardcore punk band from Oldham County, Kentucky, formed in 2013 and currently signed to Pure Noise Records. The band released their debut studio album, ''Laugh Tracks (album), Laugh Tracks'', in September 2016 through Pure Noise Records, which was followed by ''A Different Shade of Blue'' in 2019. Their 2021 EP ''A Tear in the Fabric of Life'' incorporated elements of death metal and was released to widespread critical acclaim. Counterparts are a Canadian hardcore punk band formed in 2007 in Hamilton, Ontario, that currently consists of vocalist Brendan Murphy, guitarist and bassist Tyler Williams and Jesse Doreen, and drummer Kyle Brownlee. Metalcore is a broadly defined fusion genre combining elements of extreme metal and hardcore punk, originating in the 1990s United States and becoming popular in the 2000s. Metalcore typically has aggressive verses and melodic choruses, combined with Breakdown (music), breakdowns – which are slow, intense passages conducive to moshing.
