''Last Rites'' is a 1975 Australian television play. It later aired in 1977 as an episode of '' Stuart Wagstaff's World Playhouse''. Premise Industrialist Eric Cordett, arranges a meeting with an Asian consortium at his country house miles out of Sydney. It is seven years since his wife, Viola, was kidnapped from the house, never to be seen again, and Cordett has not been there since. He now has control of his wife's assets. Colin Free (1 September 1925–26 May 1996) was an award-winning Australian writer best known for his work on television. Biography Colin Free was born on 1 September 1925 in Sydney, Australia and died on 26 May 1996 in Goulburn, Australia. At the start of his career, Free wrote for the theatre, notably ''Hamlet in Shadow'', which was performed in Sydney in 1954 with a cast featuring Moya O'Sullivan. By the mid-1960s, he concentrated on writing teleplays for the BBC and the ABC, as well as for radio. Cornelia Frances Zulver, OAM (7 April 1941 – 28 May 2018), credited professionally as Cornelia Frances, was an English-Australian actress. After starting her career in small cameos in films in her native England, she became best known for her acting career in Australia after emigrating there in the 1960s, particularly her iconic television soap opera roles with portrayals of nasty characters. Nigel Tasman Lovell (27 January 1916 – 13 December 2001) was an Australian stage, radio, film and television actor, and producer of opera and both stage and radio drama. History Lovell was born in Sydney, the son of Tasman Lovell, Professor of Psychology and Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Sydney University, living at Honda Road, Neutral Bay. Charles Russell (March 31, 1918 – January 18, 1985) was an American movie and radio actor who appeared in 17 movies between 1943 and 1950. He was also a television producer who worked in Hollywood and Australia. Acting career Born in New York City, Russell made his debut in an uncredited part as a ball player in ''Ladies' Day'' (1943). His last film was ''Chinatown at Midnight'' (1949). He originated the role of insurance investigator Johnny Dollar in the CBS Radio series ''Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar'' in 1949, playing the role until being replaced by Edmond O'Brien in 1950.
