Last Kind Words Blues
"Last Kind Words Blues", more commonly known as "Last Kind Words", is a 1930 blues song, written by Geeshie Wiley, and performed and recorded by Geeshie Wiley and Elvie Thomas. It was released on the Paramount Records label in July 1930, with "Skinny Leg Blues" as the B-side. History "Last Kind Word Blues" was sung and performed on guitar by Geeshie Wiley, with Elvie Thomas providing additional guitar accompaniment. The lyrics reflect on the singer's father, who went to serve in the "German War" (World War I) and before he left, told her: "If I die (...) I want you to send my body to my mother." However, he also told her that he did not want a burial and preferred to be left outside, to "let the buzzards eat me whole." The female protagonist in the song went to the depot, but cried as "some train don't come, there'll be some walkin' done." The song then concludes with the last words of the protagonist's mother. Ransom Riggs (born February 3, 1979) is an American writer and filmmaker best known for the book '' Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children''. Early life and education Riggs was born in Maryland in 1979 on a 200-year-old farm, and grew up in Florida, where he attended Pine View School for the Gifted. He studied English literature at Kenyon College in Ohio, where he was a good friend of John Green. He later studied film at the University of Southern California. John Michael Dexter "Dex" Romweber II (June 18, 1966 – February 16, 2024) was an American rockabilly and roots rock musician (primarily playing electric guitar) from Carrboro, North Carolina. The Harry Smiths personnel is the same as the band on the debut album, except for the drummer Keith Carlock, who replaced Joey Baron. David Johansen
David Roger Johansen (January 9, 1950 – February 28, 2025) was an American singer, songwriter, and actor best known as lead singer of the seminal proto-punk band the New York Dolls. He is also known for his work under the pseudonym Buster Poindexter and for playing the Ghost of Christmas Past in '' Scrooged'' (1988). Early life Johansen was born in the New York City borough of Staten Island, to a librarian mother, Helen (Cullen), and an insurance sales representative father, Gunvold Johansen, who had previously sung opera.
