Last Gang Records
Last Gang Records is a record label formed by Canadian music industry lawyer Chris Taylor and concert promoter Donald K. Tarlton in the fall of 2003 at the Pop Montreal Music Festival. Last Gang was nominated as Independent Record Label of the Year at the Canadian Music Awards in 2006. It was acquired by Entertainment One in March 2016, with Taylor being appointed the new president of eOne Music, now MNRK Music Group. MNRK Music Group (pronounced "monarch"), formerly known as Koch Records and Entertainment One (eOne) Music/Records, is an American independent record label and music management company based in New York City. It was formed in 1987 as a music division of Koch Entertainment, which was acquired by and absorbed into Entertainment One (or eOne for short) in 2004. eOne was acquired by toy and multimedia company Hasbro in 2019, absorbed its family brands division in the process and announced the sale of this division to the Blackstone Group in April 2021, which then adopted this name. Boys Noize
Alexander Ridha (born 22 August 1982), better known by his stage name Boys Noize, is a German-Iraqi electronic music record producer, songwriter and DJ known for collaborations with artists including A$AP Rocky, Tommy Cash, and Frank Ocean (for example, producing Ocean's song "DHL") and remixes of artists including Daft Punk, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Snoop Dogg and Depeche Mode. In 2005, Ridha established his label, Boysnoize Records, and in 2025 launched a new concept label, Ones and Zeroes. With Skrillex he formed the duo Dog Blood. Hiawatha
Hiawatha ( , also : ), also known as Ayenwatha or Aiionwatha, was a precolonial Native American leader and cofounder of the Iroquois Confederacy. He was a leader of the Onondaga people, the Mohawk people, or both. According to some accounts, he was born an Onondaga but adopted into the Mohawks. Legend Although Hiawatha was possibly a real person, he was mostly known through his legend. The events in the legend have been dated to the middle 1100s through the occurrence of an eclipse coincident with the founding of the Iroquois Confederacy.Dates of 1390–1630 have also been proposed. Ryan Hemsworth (born 23 April 1990) is a Canadian record producer and DJ. He specialises in electronic music and sampling. He has produced tracks for Tinashe, Tory Lanez, Mitski, and E-40. Sebastien Alexandre Grainger (born 11 April 1979) is a Canadian singer and musician, best known as drummer and singer of the alternative rock duo Death from Above and the singer and guitarist for his band Sebastien Grainger & the Mountains. He is part owner of Giant Studios in Toronto, Ontario with Jimmy Shaw of Metric. Solo career Sebastien signed with Saddle Creek Records in the US, Outside Music in Canada and JVC in Japan to release his debut solo album, entitled ''Sebastien Grainger & The Mountains'', which was released on 21 October 2008. Fan Death
Fan Death was a synthpop band formed in Brooklyn, New York City, in 2007 as a collaboration between producer Szam Findlay with vocalists Dandilion Wind Opaine ( Dandi Wind) and Marta Jaciubek-McKeever. Findlay then moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, where the lineup changed to Findlay and sisters Kasia Elizabeth and Tessa Marie as vocalists. The band is named after the South Korean notion that suggests that sleeping in an enclosed room with an electric fan running can cause asphyxiation. In 2008, Erol Alkan remixed and released their debut single "Veronica's Veil" on his Phantasy Sounds label. The following year, Tokyo-based independent label Big Love Records released the EP ''Cannibal'' featuring remixes from CFCF and Manderson. Emily Savitri Haines (born 25 January 1974) is a Canadian singer and songwriter. She is the lead singer, keyboardist and songwriter of the rock band Metric and a member of the musical collective Broken Social Scene. Electric Youth is a Canadian synth-pop duo from Toronto, Ontario consisting of Bronwyn Griffin (vocals, songwriter) and Austin Garrick (producer, songwriter, synthesizer, drums). Career Garrick and Griffin have been dating since grade 8. Their initial breakthrough came in 2011 when their song " A Real Hero", created in association with College, was prominently featured in the movie '' Drive''. Mubarik Gyenne-Adams (born December 18, 1991) known professionally as Emay, is a Canadian rapper from Hamilton, Ontario. Early life Mubarik Gyenne-Adams (preferred name Mubarik Gyenne-Bayere) was born in Montreal, Quebec on December 18, 1991, the son of a couple who had immigrated to Canada from Ghana. He and his four sisters were raised in the tradition of Islam by his single mother. The family regularly moved between shelters throughout Ontario, living in Brampton briefly before settling in Hamilton. Dirty Ghosts are a San Francisco rock band formed in 2006 by Allyson Baker, Carson Binks and Baker's then-husband Ian Bavitz, known professionally as Aesop Rock. After the departure of Binks and Bavitz, Baker remained as the driving force in the band. History The band formed after the dissolution of Baker and Binks' prior band Parchman Farm, with Baker's then-husband Bavitz providing beats via drum machine. Death from Above 1979 (also known as Death from Above or DFA 1979) is a Canadian rock duo consisting of bassist Jesse F. Keeler and drummer and vocalist Sebastien Grainger from Toronto, Ontario, formed in 2001. The band released their debut album, '' You're a Woman, I'm a Machine'', in 2004 and broke up in 2006.
