Lassi Nikkarinen (born 11 March 1997) is a Finnish professional basketball player for Finnish Korisliiga team Helsinki Seagulls. National team career Nikkarinen is a former youth international and has represented Finland U16, Finland U18 and Finland U20 national teams. He has played seven games with the Finland men's national basketball team. Point Guard
The point guard (PG), also called the one or the point, is one of the Basketball positions, five positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position and is usually the shortest player on the court. Point guards are expected to control the pace of the game. They effectively "run" the team's offense by controlling the ball and making sure that it gets to the right player at the right time. Generally, point guards are expected to be proficient in passing the ball and being able to get Assist (basketball), assists to teammates. In a pick and roll offense, the point guard typically moves off of screens to facilitate the ball to a Power forward, big. Likewise, point guards can also shoot off of screens if given separation. 2017–18 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Season
The 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season began on November 10, 2017. The first tournament was the 2K Sports Classic and the season ended with the Final Four at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, on April 2, 2018. Practices officially began on September 29, 2017. Rule changes The following rule changes were proposed for the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season: * Expanding the coaches' box from 28 feet to 38 feet. * Resetting the shot clock to 20 seconds when the ball is inbounded in the front court after a foul or violation (e.g. kicked ball) by the defense. HBA-Märsky Players
HBA-Märsky is a Finnish basketball club, administrated by the Helsinki Basketball Academy. Their home arena is in URHEA Campus in Mäkelänrinne, Vallila, Helsinki, which also serves as the National Olympic Training Center.
