Lasmid Nathaniel Owusu popularly known with the stage name Lasmid ( fka Charger) is a Ghanaian musician and songwriter from Takoradi. He was crowned winner of the MTN Hitmaker Season 8. He is best known for the viral song ''Friday Night'' which gained attention in Ghana topping charts after it became a trend on TikTok. Career In 2019, Lasmid won the MTN Hitmaker season 8 competition, for which he received a GH₵120,000 recording contract. Following the contest, Ghanaian music producer Kaywa signed him to his record label, Highly Spiritual Music. In 2022, Nigerian singer Naira Marley expressed interest in signing Lasmid to his label. Amerado (musician)
Derrick Sarfo Kantanka, (born 14 February 1995), best known as Amerado, is a Ghanaian rapper from Kumasi. He is the curator of Yeete Nsem, Ghana's first news casting rap series. Early life and education Derrick Kantanka was born and raised in Ejisu, Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. He attended KNUST Senior High School. Music career After placing third at the Solid FM Freestyle Show in 2015, Amerado caught the attention of music producer, sound engineer and A&R, Azee Ntwene, who signed the rapper to his label MicBurnerz Music. MTN Hitmaker
MTN Hitmaker is a television music competition created by MTN Ghana in 2011. The show is available to all amateur musicians living in Ghana or who are habitually residing in Ghana. Since its inception in 2012, the competition has fostered and injected several music talents into the public. Some of these artists include Kwame Eugene, Kidi, Fameye and Mr Drew. Format Auditions Every year's competition begins with a series of audition stages, the first of which, termed "Scouting," is guided by some of Ghana's beatmakers who are experienced in all music genre.
