Franklin Roberto Lashley (born July 16, 1976) is an American professional wrestler and former mixed martial artist. He is signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW), where he is a member of The Hurt Syndicate and is one-half of the AEW World Tag Team Champions with stablemate Shelton Benjamin. He is best known for his tenure in WWE. He is also known for his tenure in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). As a mixed martial artist, Lashley competed for Bellator MMA and Strikeforce. Lashley debuted in WWE in 2005, appearing on the SmackDown brand where he became a one-time United States Champion. After being drafted to the ECW brand the following year, Lashley became a two-time ECW World Champion. Karl Spencer Lashley (June 7, 1890 – August 7, 1958) was an American psychologist and behaviorist remembered for his contributions to the study of learning and memory. A ''Review of General Psychology'' survey, published in 2002, ranked Lashley as the 61st most cited psychologist of the 20th century. Early life and education Lashley was born on June 7, 1890, in the town of Davis, West Virginia. He was the only child of Charles and Maggie Lashley. He grew up in a middle-class family with a reasonably comfortable life. Lashley's father held various local political positions. Patrick Douglas Lashley (11 February 1937 – 4 September 2023), known as Peter Lashley, was a Barbadian cricketer. He played four Tests for the West Indies in the 1960s. Career A middle-order batsman who became an opener later in his career, Lashley played domestic cricket for Barbados from 1958 to 1975. His top score was 204 against Guyana in 1966-67. Atlantic Union College (AUC) was a private Seventh-day Adventist college in South Lancaster, Massachusetts. It was founded in 1882. The college closed in 2018 due to accreditation and financial problems. From 1933 to 2018, AUC was a four-year liberal arts college with a peak enrollment of over 700 students. After a financial crisis in 2011 it suspended bachelor's degree programs, then resumed them on a smaller scale in 2015. William Lashly (25 December 1867 – 12 June 1940) was a Royal Navy seaman who served as lead stoker on both the ''Discovery'' expedition and the ''Terra Nova'' expedition to Antarctica, for which he was awarded the Polar Medal. Lashly was also recognised with the Albert Medal for playing a key role in saving the life of a comrade on the second of the two expeditions. Career ''Discovery'' expedition The son of a farm worker, Lashly was born in Hambledon, Hampshire, a village near Portsmouth, England. At the time he joined Scott's ''Discovery'' expedition in 1901, he was a 33-year-old leading stoker in the Royal Navy, serving on .
