Lars T. Bjella
Lars T. Bjella (8 May 1922 – 3 January 2013) was a Norwegian politician for the Centre Party. He was active in Ål local politics for 25 years, among others serving as deputy mayor from 1968 to 1971. He served as a deputy representative to the Parliament of Norway from Buskerud during the terms 1950–1953, 1965–1969, 1969–1973 and 1973–1977. In total he met during 56 days of parliamentary session. He hailed from Torpo. He worked as secretary in Buskerud Agrarian Association from 1947 to 1966. He became an honorary member here in 2001. Furthermore he was elected chair of Ål Forest Owners Association in 1970. From 1975 he was also a board member of the regional branch of the association (now Viken Skog), serving for twelve years of which five years as chair. From 1984 to 1989 he chaired the Norwegian Forest Owners Association. He was proclaimed an honorary member here in 1991. Centre Party (Norway)
The Centre Party ( no, Senterpartiet, Sp; se, Guovddášbellodat), formerly the Farmer's Party ( no, Bondepartiet, Bp), is an agrarian political party in Norway. Ideologically, the Centre Party is positioned in the centre on the political spectrum, it advocates for economic nationalist and protectionist policy to protect Norwegian farmers with toll tariffs, and it supports decentralisation. It was founded in 1920 as the Farmers' Party ( no, link=no, Bondepartiet, Bp) and from its founding until 2000, the Centre Party joined only governments not led by the Labour Party, although it had previously supported a Labour government in the 1930s. Norske Skog Follum is a paper mill located in Follum in Norway. The mill is part of the Norske Skog Corporation and opened in 1873 with the name Follum Fabrikker (also Follum træsliberi). Norwegian Forest Owners Association ( no, Norges Skogeierforbund) is an association representing 43,000 owners of forest in Norway. The main functions of the organisation is to assist the members, who are mostly farmers, to manage their forest. This includes forestry plans, part of the cutting of timer and negotiating agreements with lumber mills and paper mills. The association is one of the 13 agricultural cooperatives in Norway and based in Oslo with 366 local groups and eight district organisations, organised as BAs. In 2005 83% of all domestic timber was organised through the association.
