Larry Seivers
Larry Seivers (born March 30, 1954) is a former American football wide receiver who played college football at the University of Tennessee. He was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League (NFL) in the fourth round of the 1977 NFL Draft. He was a consensus All-American in 1975 and 1976. Early years Seivers played high school football and basketball for the Clinton High School Dragons in Clinton, Tennessee. College career Seivers played for the Tennessee Volunteers from 1974 to 1976. He accumulated 117 receptions, 1,924 receiving yards and eight receiving touchdowns in his career. At the time he was the University of Tennessee's all-time leader in receptions and receiving yards. He was a two time consensus All-American in 1975 and 1976. Seivers scored the only touchdown of the 1974 Liberty Bowl, catching an 11-yard pass from Randy Wallace, in a 7-3 victory over Maryland. Liberty Bowl
The Liberty Bowl is an annual American college football bowl game played in late December or early January since 1959. For its first five years, it was played at Philadelphia Municipal Stadium in Philadelphia before being held at Atlantic City (New Jersey) Convention Hall in 1964. Since 1965, the game has been held at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium in Memphis, Tennessee. Because of the scheduling of the bowl game near the end of the calendar year, no game was played during calendar years 2008 or 2015, while two games were played in calendar years 2010 and 2016. Since 2004, the game has been sponsored by Memphis-based auto parts retailer AutoZone and officially known as the ''AutoZone Liberty Bowl''. Ahmad Rashad
Ahmad Rashad (born Robert Earl Moore; November 19, 1949) is an American sportscaster and former professional football player. He was the fourth overall selection of the 1972 NFL Draft, taken by the St. Louis Cardinals. He was known as Bobby Moore before changing his name in 1973. Recruited after high school as a wide receiver by the University of Oregon, he played for their Oregon Ducks. He moved to the running back position and was named to the 1971 College Football All-America Team at that position. He became professional after being drafted by the Cardinals. Rashad returned to playing as wide receiver, and played for the Cardinals for two seasons. After being traded to the Buffalo Bills in 1974, and sitting out the 1975 season with a knee injury, he signed with the Seattle Seahawks before the 1976 season. The Buffalo Bills are a professional American football team based in the Buffalo metropolitan area. The 1979 NFL Draft was the procedure by which National Football League teams selected amateur college football players. It is officially known as the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting. The draft was held May 3–4, 1979, at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City, New York. The league also held a supplemental draft after the regular draft and before the regular season.
