Larry Foyt
Lawrence Joseph Roberds Foyt (born February 22, 1977) is an American former NASCAR and IndyCar driver and current team principal for A.J. Foyt Enterprises. He is the biological grandson and adopted son of A. J. Foyt, and a biological cousin (and uncle by adoption) of A. J. Foyt IV. His biological mother (and sister by adoption) is Terry Lynn Foyt, daughter of A. J. Foyt, who divorced his biological father Larry Gene Roberds when he was an infant. 2009 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series
The 2009 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series was the fifteenth season of the Camping World Truck Series, the third highest stock car racing series sanctioned by NASCAR in the United States. It was contested over twenty-five races, beginning with the NextEra Energy Resources 250 at Daytona International Speedway and ending with the Ford 200 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The season was the first under the Camping World sponsorship banner. Camping World, announced on October 23, 2008, that they would sponsor the series for the next seven seasons. Ron Hornaday Jr. won and clinched the championship for Kevin Harvick, Inc. at Phoenix, one race early. Winchester Speedway
Winchester Speedway is a paved oval motor racetrack in White River Township, Randolph County, just outside Winchester, Indiana, approximately 90 miles (144.8 km) northeast of Indianapolis. It seats 5,000 spectators. It is also known as the "World's Fastest 1/2 mile". The track's 37-degree banking is one of the steepest in motorsports, and the highest-banked active racetrack in the country. The American Speed Association (ASA) is a sanctioning body of motorsports in the United States formed in 1968. The Association was based in Pendleton, Indiana, Pendleton, Indiana, and later in Daytona Beach, Florida. The ASA sanctioned asphalt and dirt tracks in their ASA Member Track program along with racing series in the United States and Canada. The ASA currently sanctions the STARS National Tour, the ASA Midwest Tour, Midwest Tour, the Southern Super Series and all CRA Super Series, CRA sanctioned series. F2000 Championship Series
The F2000 Championship Series is a North American–based Open wheel car, open wheel road racing series based on Formula Continental, a wings and slicks series that is designed to be the second step after Formula Ford, Formula F 1600. The series utilizes the 2.0L powerplant of the new Mazda MZR engine or an older Zetec or Pinto engine coupled with chassis from companies such as Van Diemen, Citation, Mygale, RFR, Radon and Piper. Unlike other developmental series, there are no spec cars in F2000. The series has existed in one form or another since the 1970s. The United States Auto Club (USAC) is one of the sanctioning bodies of auto racing in the United States. From 1956 to 1979, USAC sanctioned the United States National Championship, and from 1956 to 1997 the organization sanctioned the Indianapolis 500. A go-kart, also written as go-cart (often referred to as simply a kart), is a type of small sports car, close wheeled car, open-wheel car or quadracycle. Go-karts come in all shapes and forms, from non-motorised models to high-performance racing karts. Karting is a type of racing in which a compact four-wheel unit called a go-kart is used. 2006 Indianapolis 500
The 90th Indianapolis 500 was held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Speedway, Indiana on Sunday May 28, 2006. Sam Hornish Jr. won from the pole position. It was Hornish's first and only win at Indianapolis, and the record fourteenth Indy victory for Penske Racing. Hornish would later win the IndyCar Series championship, the second driver in a row to sweep the Indy 500 and season championship in the same season. In one of the most dramatic finishes in Indy history, 19-year old rookie Marco Andretti took the lead with three laps to go, after passing his father Michael Andretti on the outside of turn one. The 89th Indianapolis 500 was held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Speedway, Indiana on Sunday, May 29, 2005.
