Larry Davidson (basketball)
Larry Davidson (born 19 January 1983) is an Australian former professional basketball player who played 12 seasons in the National Basketball League (NBL). Junior career A scholarship-holder at the Australian Institute of Sport, Davidson led New South Wales to a national title at the 2002 U20 Australian Junior Championships with an MVP performance, earning the Bob Staunton Medal. Following the U20 tournament, Davidson moved to the United States to play college basketball for Boise State. However, he was forced to redshirt the 2002–03 season after having surgery on both knees. He returned to practice in the fall of 2003 but suffered further knee injuries that prevented him playing in 2003–04, and in November 2003, he departed Boise State. Adelaide 36ers
The Adelaide 36ers are an Australian professional men's basketball team in the National Basketball League (NBL). The 36ers are the only team in the league representing the state of South Australia and are based in the state's capital of Adelaide. The club was originally called the Adelaide City Eagles when they joined the NBL in 1982, but changed their name to the 36ers the following year. The Australian Football League (AFL) is the pre-eminent professional sports, professional competition of Australian rules football. Raymond Russell Lindwall (3 October 1921 – 23 June 1996) was an Australian cricketer who represented Australia in 61 Tests from 1946 to 1960. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest fast bowlers of all time. He also played top-flight rugby league football with St. George, appearing in two grand finals for the club before retiring to fully concentrate on Test cricket. The St. George Dragons are an Australian rugby league, rugby league football club from the St George, Sydney, St George District in Sydney, New South Wales that played in the top level New South Wales Rugby League, New South Wales competition and Australian Rugby League competitions from the 1921 NSWRFL season, 1921 until the 1997 ARL season, as well as the unified 1998 National Rugby League season. Jack Gilbert (rugby League)
John Francis Gilbert (20 November 1918 – 29 November 1998) was an Australian premiership winning rugby league footballer who played in the 1940s. Background Jack and his brothers: Herb Gilbert, Jr. and Bob Gilbert were sons of the pioneer rugby league champion footballer, Herb Gilbert. The brothers grew up in Bexley, New South Wales and came through the St George junior ranks. Playing career Gilbert's career was curtailed by World War II and he only played two full first grade seasons with St. George in 1941 and 1946. Gilbert won a premiership with St. George, playing centre in the team that defeated Eastern Suburbs in the 1941 Grand Final. At season's end Gilbert was posted to New Guinea to see active service with the Australian Army. He survived the war, and after his discharge in April 1946, Gilbert resumed his playing career at St. George for the 1946 season, before retiring from Sydney first grade football. Herbert R. Gilbert (18 September 1888 – 5 January 1972) was an Australian rugby league and rugby union player – a List of dual-code rugby internationals, dual-code international. Melvin Thomas (born February 25, 1968) is an American former professional basketball player who played 15 seasons in the National Basketball League (NBL) in Australia between 1992 and 2006. Early life Thomas was born in the U.S. state of Alabama. Gordon Livingstone "Gordie" McLeod (born 7 November 1956 in Wollongong, New South Wales) is an Australian former professional basketball player and coach in the National Basketball League (NBL). Professional career McLeod was already known as one of Australia's more talented point guards when the new NBL started in 1979. He joined his home town team the Illawarra Hawks for the inaugural season playing 17 games and averaging 10.1 points per game. McLeod was appointed captain of the Hawks and would continue to lead the team until the end of the 1982 season. After 82 games in the red and white of Illawarra he would sign with the Sydney Supersonics for 1983.
