Lara Elena Donnelly
Lara Elena Donnelly, (born 1990) is an American author of speculative fiction. She is a graduate of the 2012 Clarion Workshop. Her short fiction and poetry have appeared in Strange Horizons, Mythic Delirium, Escape Pod, Nightmare Magazine, and Uncanny Magazine. Her debut novel, ''Amberlough'', was published by Tor Books in February 2017, and was nominated for the 2017 Nebula Award for Best Novel, the 2017 Lambda Literary Award and included on the 2017 '' Locus'' Recommended Reading List. The sequel, ''Armistice'', was published by Tor in May 2018. The third title in the Amberlough Dossier, ''Amnesty'', followed in April 2019. In 2020 Donnelly sold her next novel, ''Base Notes'' to Thomas & Mercer, which was published in February 2022. Speculative Fiction
Speculative fiction is a term that has been used with a variety of (sometimes contradictory) meanings. The broadest interpretation is as a category of fiction encompassing genres with elements that do not exist in reality, recorded history, nature, or the present universe. Such fiction covers various themes in the context of supernatural, futuristic, and other imaginative realms. The genres under this umbrella category include, but are not limited to, science fiction, fantasy, horror, superhero fiction, alternate history, utopian and dystopian fiction, and supernatural fiction, as well as combinations thereof (for example, science fantasy). The Internet Speculative Fiction Database (ISFDB) is a database of bibliographic information on genres considered speculative fiction, including science fiction and related genres such as fantasy, alternate history, and horror fiction. The ISFDB is a volunteer effort, with the database being open for moderated editing and user contributions, and a wiki that allows the database editors to coordinate with each other. the site had catalogued 2,002,324 story titles from 232,816 authors. Boom! Studios (styled BOOM! Studios) is an American comic book and graphic novel publisher, headquartered in Los Angeles, California, United States.
