André Laplante, (born November 12, 1949) is a Canadian ( Québécois) pianist. He received a 2004 Juno Award for the 2003 recording ''Concertos: Music of Jacques Hétu''. He is considered to be a Franz Liszt specialist and is also much associated with the music of Maurice Ravel. Education and early career Born in Rimouski, Quebec, Canada, Laplante began studying piano at seven and continued after 1964 at the École Vincent-d'Indy with Natalie Pépin and Yvonne Hubert. In 1965 he won the Montreal Symphony Orchestra (MSO) Matinées prize for young performers, and in 1968 he took first prize at the MSO Concours and the Quebec Music Festivals. Charles Champagne (MLA For Deux-Montagnes)
Charles Laplante dit Champagne (; October 16, 1838 – December 22, 1907) was a lawyer, judge and political figure in Quebec. He represented Deux-Montagnes in the Legislative Assembly of Quebec from 1876 to 1882 as a Conservative. His name also appears as Charles Champagne. He was born in Saint-Eustache, Lower Canada, the son of Charles Laplante dit Champagne and Christine Andrave. He was educated at the Séminaire de Sainte-Thérèse-de-Blainville and worked on the family farm, going on to study law with Gédéon Ouimet and Joseph-Adolphe Chapleau. In 1860, he married Aglaé Éthier. He was admitted to the Lower Canada bar in 1865. Champagne was first elected to the Quebec assembly in an 1876 by-election held after Gédéon Ouimet resigned his seat. Courtney LaPlante (born February 26, 1989) is an American singer best known as the lead vocalist of the Canadian Heavy metal music, heavy metal band Spiritbox. Born in the United States, LaPlante began singing in bands as a teenager after moving to Canada. She first gained success as the lead singer of the now-defunct American metalcore band Iwrestledabearonce. As the successor of the band's original vocalist, LaPlante recorded and performed with the band from 2012 until 2015. She left the group months after the release of her second album with them, ''Hail Mary (Iwrestledabearonce album), Hail Mary'' (2015). Darryl Laplante (born March 28, 1977) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre who played in 35 career National Hockey League games for the Detroit Red Wings. He is currently a non-competitive pond hockey player for the Steelhawks Playing career After three seasons in the Western Hockey League with the Moose Jaw Warriors, Laplante made his professional debut with Red Wings' AHL affiliate, the Adirondack Red Wings in the 1997–98 season. Violet La Plante (born Violet LaPlant; January 17, 1908 – June 1, 1984), also known as Violet Avon, was an American silent films, silent film actress. Biography Violet La Plante, born in Missouri, was the younger sister of future Hollywood star Laura La Plante, and started acting in the early 1920s, adapting her surname to "La Plante", like her sister. Her first film was in 1924, starring opposite Buddy Roosevelt, in ''Battling Buddy''. She starred in four films in 1924.
