''Lapandav'' (translation: ''Hide And Seek'') is a 1993 Indian Marathi-language comedy film directed by Shrabani Deodhar, produced by Sachin Parekar and Sanjay Parekar under the production banner of Amol Production and distributed by Everest Entertainment. Released in Maharashtra on 16 April 1993, the film stars an ensemble cast of Ashok Saraf, Vandana Gupte, Vikram Gokhale, Savita Prabhune, Ajinkya Deo, Varsha Usgaonkar, Sunil Barve and Pallavi Ranade. Shrabani Deodhar
Shrabani Deodhar is an Indian film director and screenwriter who won the National Film Awards, National Film Award for her very first project, the 1993 Marathi language feature film ''Lapandav''. Background Dedhar has no formal training as a filmmaker. Her parents were both doctors, and she concedes that her filmmaking knowledge came from her husband, cinematographer Debu Deodhar. He advised she combines the sciences of what goes on behind-the-camera with that of motion pictures, and encouraged her to take film appreciation courses at the Film and Television Institute of India in Pune to pursue her wish to become a filmmaker. He worked with her on her very first film, and with her on every one of her projects before she created ''Sata Lota Pan Sagla Khota''. Debu Deodhar
Debu Deodhar was an Indian cinematographer who has been part of Indian cinema since 1972. His awards include the Maharashtra State Film Award, the Zee Gaurav Puraskar, and the Goa State award for outstanding cinematography for films such as ''Kairee'' (1999) and ''Daayraa'' (1996). Background Debu Deodhar graduated from Film and Television Institute of India, Pune with a specialization in cinematography. He began work as a cinematographer in 1972 as an assistant cameraman. His 38-year career over more than twentyfive films culminated with his final film, ''Marmabandh'' (2010).
