''Lap 5'' is the second studio album by British hip hop duo D-Block Europe, self-released on 23 September 2022. In addition to featuring members Dirtbike LB and Young Adz on specific tracks, it features guest appearances from Ghost Killer Track and Ed Sheeran, as well as vocals from Burna Boy. The album debuted at number two on the UK Albums Chart and number one on the UK R&B Albums Chart. It was supported with five singles: "Black Beatles", "Elegant & Gang", "Fantasy", "Man in the Mirror" and "4 the Win", which all peaked in the top 50 of the UK Singles Chart. The album was certified gold by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). Critical reception Kyann-Sian Williams of ''NME'' called the album "intriguing but uneven" but one on which the duo "show precisely why their formula works, and offer room for growth". D-Block Europe, often abbreviated to DBE, is a British hip hop collective consisting of Adam Nathaniel "Young Adz" Williams, Ricky Earl "Dirtbike LB" Banton and Lil Pino from Lewisham, London. Their name is a reference to The Lox (also known as D-Block). They started to put out tracks on their own label in the beginning of 2014. The group rose to fame in 2017 after releasing numerous singles including "Large Amounts". ''Clash'' is a music and fashion magazine and website based in the United Kingdom. It is published four times a year by Music Republic Ltd, whose predecessor Clash Music Ltd went into liquidation. The Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) is a trade association representing the Australian recording industry which was established in the 1970s by six major record companies, EMI, Festival, CBS, RCA, WEA and Universal replacing the Association of Australian Record Manufacturers (AARM) which was formed in 1956. Ché Wolton Grant (born 4 March 1994), known professionally as AJ Tracey, is a British rapper, singer, songwriter and record producer. He is from Ladbroke Grove, West London. Tracey rose to popularity in 2016 and was listed by ''The Guardian'' in a list of "best new acts to catch at festivals in 2016". Tracey's first mainstream EP, ''Secure the Bag!'' Jonathan Kweku Awote-Mensah (born 27 March 1992), professionally known as Jae5 is a British-Ghanaian record producer and mixing engineer from Plaistow, East London. He is a Grammy Award-winning producer and is signed to Black Butter Records. Early life Jonathan Mensah grew up in London as a child and moved to Ghana from age 9 to age 12 with his brothers. He is the older brother of NSG members Kruddz and OGD. When he moved back to London, he did courses at the program APE Media, where he developed production and engineering skills. British Hip Hop
British hip hop, also known as UK hip hop or UK rap, is a genre of music, and a culture that covers a variety of styles of hip hop music made in the United Kingdom. It is generally classified as one of a number of styles of R&B/Hip-Hop. British hip hop can also be referred to as Brit-hop, a term coined and popularised mainly by '' British Vogue'' magazine and the BBC.
