Langley Secondary School
Langley Secondary is a public high school in Langley, British Columbia part of School District 35 Langley. It is the oldest secondary school in the Langley School District, having been opened in 1949. Langley Secondary offers programs for students in Grade 9 to 12 and has strong traditions in academics, fine arts and athletics. Langley Secondary has one partner school, the HD Stafford Middle School (grades 6, 7 and 8). Langley Secondary has over 1000 students and 80 staff members. In addition to regular provincially prescribed curriculum leading to graduation, the school has academic programs including AVID and Advanced Placement. Langley, British Columbia (district Municipality)
The Township of Langley is a district municipality immediately east of the City of Surrey in southwestern British Columbia, Canada. It extends south from the Fraser River to the Canada–United States border, and west of the City of Abbotsford. Langley Township is not to be confused with the City of Langley, which is adjacent to the township but politically is a separate entity. Langley is located in the eastern part of Metro Vancouver. Billeh Nickerson (born February 14, 1972) is a Canadian writer, editor, performer, producer and arts advocate. Personal life Nickerson was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, grew up in Langley, British Columbia, lived in Toronto, Ontario, and currently resides in Vancouver, British Columbia. He earned an undergraduate degree in fine arts from the University of Victoria and a master's degree in fine arts from the University of British Columbia. Ryan Knighton
Ryan Knighton (born 19. September 19, 1972 in Langley) is a Canadian writer best known for writing about his blindness, in books such as ''Cockeyed: A Memoir'' and ''C'mon Papa – Dispatches from a dad in the dark''. He teaches English and creative writing at Capilano University and lives in Vancouver with his wife and daughter. Knighton performed in the June 2012 edition of Don't Tell My Mother!, a monthly showcase in which authors, screenwriters, actors and comedians share true stories they would never want their mothers to know. Lacrosse
Lacrosse is a team sport played with a lacrosse stick and a lacrosse ball. It is the oldest organized sport in North America, with its origins with the indigenous people of North America as early as the 12th century. The game was extensively modified by European colonists, reducing the violence, to create its current collegiate and professional form. Players use the head of the lacrosse stick to carry, pass, catch, and shoot the ball into the goal. The sport has four versions that have different sticks, fields, rules and equipment: field lacrosse, women's lacrosse, box lacrosse and intercrosse.
