Langi Peters
Langi Daniel Peters (born 3 April 1979) is a Fijian former rugby union international. Biography Peters, one of twins, is a native of Nausori. Rugby career A 6 ft 6 in lock, Peters played a season of New Zealand provincial rugby with Wairarapa Bush in 2006 and was a member of their Meads Cup-winning side. After first playing in France in 2008, Peters competed for various clubs in the country's lower divisions on a contract basis and at the age of 44 won a Fédérale 1 title with Stade Langonnais in 2023. Peters made five capped appearances for Fiji between 2005 and 2007, debuting off the bench against Samoa in Apia. He was ruled out of contention for the 2007 Rugby World Cup when he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament. Suva (, ) is the Capital city, capital and the most populous city of Fiji. It is the home of the country's largest metropolitan area and serves as its major port. Wairarapa Bush Rugby Football Union
The Wairarapa Bush Rugby Football Union is the body that regulates rugby union in Masterton, New Zealand. It was formed in 1971 with the amalgamation of the Wairapapa and Bush Unions. The Wairarapa Bush team play in the Heartland Championship from Memorial Park, Masterton. They were the inaugural winners of the Meads Cup after beating Wanganui 16–14 on 21 October 2006. Fiji National Rugby Union Team
The Fiji national rugby union team represents Fiji in men's international rugby union. Fiji competed in the Pacific Tri-Nations and now competes in its successor tournament Pacific Nations Cup. Fiji also regularly plays test matches during the June and November test windows. They have beaten the major rugby playing sides of Wales, Scotland, Australia, France, Italy, Argentina and England. The only major sides Fiji are yet to beat are New Zealand, South Africa and Ireland. The "Flying Fijians" as they are nicknamed compete every four years at the Rugby World Cup. Their best performances were the 1987, 2007 and 2023 tournaments when they defeated Argentina, Wales and Australia respectively to reach the quarterfinals.
