Landsverk L-30
Landsverk L-30 (Swedish Army designation: ''stridsvagn försöksmodell 1931'', abbr. ''strv fm/31'', "tank trial model-1931") was a Swedish late interwar era medium tank constructed by AB Landsverk for the Swedish Army between 1930 and 1935, featuring welded armour joints and a "wheel-cum-track system", allowing for interchangeable wheeled and tracked propulsion. Construction The L-30 was based on the Landsverk L-10, a conventional fully tracked tank, but added to the design by featuring deployable wheel propulsion in addition to its tracks (a so-called "wheel-cum-track system"), the idea being that wheeled and tracked propulsion could be interchanged depending on the travel surface: road/terrain. The wheel-track suspension design was quite ingenious, and wheels/tracks could be interchanged in less than a minute, even while on the move. Beyond the wheel-track suspension, it was almost identical to the Landsverk L-10 design, featuring an advanced all-welded construction, using ...

Tanks Of The Interwar Period
This article discusses tanks of the interwar period. World War I established the validity of the tank concept and between the two world wars, many nations needed to have tanks, but only a few had the industrial resources to design and build them. During and after World War I, Britain and France were the intellectual leaders in tank design, with other countries generally following and adopting their designs. This early lead would be gradually lost during the course of the 1930s to the Soviet Union and, to a lesser extent, Nazi Germany. General developments The final tank designs of 1918 showed a number of trends. The joint US and British Tank Mark VIII, Mark VIII tank was intended to be a common heavy tank design for them and the French. The design was made to overcome the limitations of the earlier British heavy tanks of World War I, British heavy tanks. The , 37-ton armored vehicle was powered by a 300-hp (224 kW) V-12 engine and capable of 7 mph (11 km/h) ...

World War II Tanks Of Sweden
In its most general sense, the term "world" refers to the totality of entities, to the whole of reality or to everything that is. The nature of the world has been conceptualized differently in different fields. Some conceptions see the world as unique while others talk of a "plurality of worlds". Some treat the world as one simple object while others analyze the world as a complex made up of many parts. In '' scientific cosmology'' the world or universe is commonly defined as " e totality of all space and time; all that is, has been, and will be". '' Theories of modality'', on the other hand, talk of possible worlds as complete and consistent ways how things could have been. ''Phenomenology'', starting from the horizon of co-given objects present in the periphery of every experience, defines the world as the biggest horizon or the "horizon of all horizons". In ''philosophy of mind'', the world is commonly contrasted with the mind as that which is represented by the mind. ''T ...

Landsverk L-321
:''This is about the origin of the family name Landsverk. For the Swedish heavy industry manufacturer, see AB Landsverk.'' Landsverk is the name of two forest farms located in the village of Lisleherad, in the municipality of Notodden, Norway. The name means "land squeezed in between the river and mountain in each end", or "land squeezed". The cultivated land is of minor importance compared to the value of the forest. Forestry has been the basic income here for generations. Whilst agriculture has been subsidized by the state, the income from forestry has always been dependent upon world markets. The village of Lisleherad has the largest average size of privately owned forest properties in Norway. The first written official document dates the Landsverk properties back to early 1300 (with buildings constructed before The Great Plague), while the neighbour farm, "Haave", ("viking temple") has buildings dated back to year 900. During Danish rule, the Danish king never achieved cont ...

Pansarbil M/39
The ''Pansarbil'' m/39 (or Lynx) and ''Pansarbil'' m/40 were Swedish 4x4 armoured cars of World War II. History AB Landsverk, who had developed the Landsverk L180, L181 and L182 family of armored cars, began developing the ''Pansarbil'' m/39 in 1937 as a private project. Sweden wasn't particularly interested so AB Landsverk pitted it against the British Alvis-Straussler AC3 in Denmark, after which an order for 18 vehicles were placed by the Danish army. The first prototype was available for trials in January 1938 and three vehicles were shipped to Denmark in April of 1938. Fifteen more vehicles were supposed to be delivered to Denmark but the German invasion of Denmark (1940) derailed this plan and the vehicles were instead requisitioned by Sweden. Thirty more vehicles were ordered by Sweden but, since Lndsverk didn't have the capacity to produce them, the contract was fulfilled by Volvo and these vehicles bear the designation m/40. These were fitted with a 20 mm ''akan'' m/40 ...

Landsverk L-185
The Landsverk L-185 was a Swedish armored car, developed by AB Landsverk in 1933. The L-185 wasn't used by the Swedish Army. In 1934, a modified L-185, built on a 4 x 4 Fordson chassis, was sold to Denmark, being 2.5 tons heavier than the original and it was issued to the Army Technical Corps of the Danish Army, under the Danish designation FP-6. Following an engine failure in the 1937, the L-185 was relegated to the training role in 1939. See also Landsverk L-180, L-181 and L-182 — A family of similar armored cars made by Landsverk. Landsverk L180, L181 And L182
The Landsverk L-180, L-181 and L-182 are a family of armored cars developed by the Swedish company AB Landsverk during the interwar years. They had a good international reputation for being fast, robust and reliable and were acquired in small numbers by Denmark, Estonia, Ireland and the Netherlands, among others. Design The different variants were similarly configured, but were built on different chassis; Büssing-NAG, Mercedes-Benz and Daimler-Benz truck chassis. (See ''Operators'') Armament These vehicles were also similarly armed, most commonly with a Bofors 37 mm or 20 mm Madsen autocannon but was also manufactured with other similar guns. The only exception, Finland, bought one L-182 and armed it with a 13.2 mm L-35/36 machine gun. (See ''Operators'') Engine In the same way, as several different chassis were used, different engines were also used, and where the make of the engine is known, they were manufactured by the same company as the chassis. Stridsvagn M/42
Stridsvagn m/42 (Strv m/42) was a Swedish medium tank in service in the World War II period. Known by its manufacturer AB Landsverk as Lago II-III-IV, it fielded a 75 mm L/31 gun, the first of its size in a Swedish tank. It entered service with the Swedish Army in April 1943. Modern in design and mobile, a total of 282 were produced. As a neutral nation in World War II, Sweden did not engage in combat; thus its tanks have no battlefield record. Design history The Strv m/42 had its origins on modifications in the Lago (the manufacturer designation) a light tank armed with a Hungarian 37M 40 mm cannon and three machine guns produced for the Hungarian Army in late 1930s by the AB Landsverk, itself a development of the Stridsvagn L-60 light tank also made by the AB Landsverk. The Swedish Army specified for a bigger and better tank than the Lago resulting in the Strv m/42 (later known as Strv m/42 TM), a tank armed with a 75mm L/31 gun, suited against armored and sof ...
