Landon Turner
Landon Turner (born May 15, 1993) is an American former professional football guard. He played college football at North Carolina. His uncle Jim Braxton played for the Bills and Dolphins in the 1970s. Early life Turner was a four-year starter at Harrisonburg High School in Harrisonburg, Virginia. He was All-State his junior and senior years, as he paved the way for running back Michael Holmes, who later played at Virginia Tech, to rush for more than 5,000 yards combined in both seasons. In Turner's senior season, he helped Harrisonburg to the VHSL Division 4 state final, where they lost 41–21 to Alex Carter's Briar Woods High School. In American football, a guard (G), otherwise known as an offensive guard (OG), is an Lineman (gridiron football), offensive line player who lines up between the center (American football), center and the offensive tackle, tackles. Like other offensive line positions, guards are used primarily for Blocking (American football), blocking. 2016 NFL Draft
The 2016 NFL draft was the 81st annual draft of National Football League (NFL) franchises to select newly eligible American football players. As in 2015, the draft took place at the Auditorium Theatre and Grant Park in Chicago. The draft began on Thursday, April 28 with the first round, and ended on Saturday, April 30. The All-America designation is an annual honor bestowed on outstanding athletes in the United States who are considered to be among the best athletes in their respective sport. Redshirt, in United States college athletics, is a delay or suspension of an athlete's participation in order to lengthen their period of eligibility. Typically, a student's athletic eligibility in a given sport is four seasons, aligning with the four years of academic classes typically required to earn a bachelor's degree at an American college or university. However, in a redshirt year, student athletes may attend classes at the college or university, practice with an athletic team, and "suit up" (wear a team uniform) for play – but they may compete in only a limited number of games (see " Use of status" section). Briar Woods High School is a public secondary school located in Ashburn, an unincorporated area in Loudoun County, Virginia, United States, and is part of Loudoun County Public Schools. Alexander Rhys Carter (born October 19, 1994) is an American former professional football player who was a cornerback in the National Football League (NFL). He was selected by the Detroit Lions in the third round of the 2015 NFL draft. He played college football for the Stanford Cardinal. Early life Carter attended Briar Woods High School in Ashburn, Virginia, where he recorded over 1,000 all-purpose yards and 50 tackles with five interceptions (one returned for touchdown) as a senior.
