Arthur Higelin (born 27 March 1966), better known under his stage name Arthur H (), is a French singer-songwriter and pianist. He is best known in France for his live performances—four of his albums were recorded live. Life and career He is the son of the French singer Jacques Higelin and Nicole Courtois, and half brother of singers Izïa Higelin and stage and film actor, theatre director and music video director Kên Higelin. After traveling in the West Indies, he studied music in Boston before returning to Paris and developing his eclectic but highly personal musical style, drawing on such influences as Thelonious Monk, Serge Gainsbourg, the Sex Pistols, jazz, blues, Middle Eastern music and the tango. Jean Landis
Jean Landis (September 28, 1918 – December 13, 2022) was an American aviator. Landis was born in El Cajon, California, on September 28, 1918. She received her bachelor's degree in physical education from San Diego State University in 1940 and her master's degree from Wellesley College. Landis was involved with the Civilian Pilot Training Program. When World War II started, Landis was chosen for the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP). In 2009, Landis and the other WASP pilots received the Congressional Gold Medal and were classified as veterans. Landis taught physical education at San Diego State University from 1968 until her retirement in 1979. Monte Landis
Max Landstein (20 April 1933 – 14 December 2024), known as Monte Landis, was a Scottish-American film and television actor. Landis was perhaps best known for playing the comic foil in multiple episodes of ''The Monkees'', most notably as Mr. Zero in the episode "The Devil and Peter Tork". He began his career in Britain before moving to the United States in 1963. Landis also had a career in Paris in the mid-1950s as emcee in cabarets and jazz clubs (Crazy Horse, Club Saint-Germain, etc.) – he played his own role later in '' Charade'' (1963) – and choreographer for the French vocal group The Blue Stars of France. Kenesaw Mountain Landis (; November 20, 1866 – November 25, 1944) was an American jurist who served as a United States federal judge from 1905 to 1922 and the first Commissioner of Baseball, commissioner of baseball from 1920 until his death. He is remembered for his resolution of the Black Sox Scandal, in which he expelled eight members of the 1919 Chicago White Sox season, Chicago White Sox from organized baseball for conspiring to lose the 1919 World Series and repeatedly refused their reinstatement requests.
