Lance Travis (born June 21, 1969) is an American former pair skater. With partner Stephanie Stiegler, he was the U.S. junior champion in 1993 and the bronze medalist at the United States Figure Skating Championships in 1995. He later teamed with Sara Ward and finished fifth at nationals in 1996. Pair Skating
Pair skating is a figure skating discipline defined by the International Skating Union (ISU) as "the skating of two persons in unison who perform their movements in such harmony with each other as to give the impression of genuine Pair Skating as compared with independent Single Skating".S&P/ID 2021, p. 109 The ISU also states that a pairs team consists of "one Woman and one Man". Pair skating, along with men's and women's single skating, has been an Olympic discipline since figure skating, the oldest Winter Olympic sport, was introduced at the 1908 Summer Olympics in London. The ISU World Figure Skating Championships introduced pair skating in 1908. Like the other disciplines, pair skating competitions consist of two segments, the short program and the free skating program. Stephanie Stiegler (born January 2, 1980 in Manhattan Beach, California) is an American former pair skater. With partner John Zimmerman, she is the 1997 U.S. bronze medalist. With partner Lance Travis, she is the 1995 U.S. bronze medalist. She is the older sister of Tiffany Stiegler and Johnnie Stiegler. United States Figure Skating Championships
The U.S. Figure Skating Championships is a figure skating competition held annually to crown the national champions of the United States. The competition is sanctioned by U.S. Figure Skating. In the U.S. skating community, the event is often referred to informally as "Nationals". Medals are currently awarded in four disciplines: men's (boys') singles, ladies' (girls') singles, pair skating, and ice dancing in four colors: gold (first), silver (second), bronze (third), and pewter (fourth) on two levels, senior and junior. Medals were previously given at the novice, intermediate, and juvenile levels. Greensboro (; formerly Greensborough) is a city in and the county seat of Guilford County, North Carolina, United States. Nebelhorn Trophy
The Nebelhorn Trophy is an international senior-level figure skating competition organized by the Deutsche Eislauf-Union and held annually in Oberstdorf, Germany. It became part of the ISU Challenger Series in the 2014–15 season. The competition is named after the Nebelhorn, a nearby mountain. It is usually one of the first international senior competitions of the season.
