Lance King (speedway Rider)
Lance Alan King (born 13 August 1963) is a former Motorcycle speedway, speedway rider from the United States. He earned 47 international caps for the United States national speedway team. Speedway career King first rode in the British leagues when he joined Cradley Heath Heathens for the 1982 British League season and won the British League Knockout Cup and league Cup in his first season with them. He improved his average to 8.74 the following season and helped Cradley win the league title and knockout cup double in addition to the Midland Cup (speedway), Midland Cup. King won bronze medals at both the 1983 and 1984 Speedway World Team Cup. By the 1984 season he was recognised as one of the world's leading riders, and his career peaked with him winning the 1984 Overseas Final on his way to a bronze medal in the 1984 Individual Speedway World Championship behind Erik Gundersen and Hans Nielsen (speedway rider), Hans Nielsen. Erik Gundersen (born 8 October 1959 in Esbjerg, Denmark) is a former motorcycle speedway rider. Gundersen is one of the most successful speedway riders of all time, having won the Speedway World Champion on three occasions, the Long Track World Championship twice and the World Pairs Championship five times. He is also a seven-time World Team Cup winner with Denmark, and earned 91 international caps for the country. Gundersen won the World Pairs Championship a record five years in succession from 1985 to 1989, and won the World Team Cup a record six years in succession from 1983 to 1988. Kelly Moran (speedway Rider)
Kelly Michael Moran (September 21, 1960 – April 4, 2010) was an American professional speedway rider who earned 47 caps for the United States national speedway team. His younger brother Shawn Moran was also a successful speedway rider. Career Moran was known as "Jelly Man" and "the Wizard of Balance" for the way he would hang off his machine when cornering. He arrived in England to race for Hull in 1978 as a teenager, but his season was curtailed when he crashed heavily at the Hackney Wick Stadium and suffered multiple injuries. However, the following year he qualified for his first World Championship Final at the Silesian Stadium in Poland. Robert Benjamin Schwartz (born August 10, 1956) is an American professional motorcycle speedway rider. He became Speedway World Pairs Championship, World Pairs Champion with Bruce Penhall in 1981 Speedway World Pairs Championship, 1981 and Dennis Sigalos in 1982 Speedway World Pairs Championship, 1982. He earned 74 caps for the United States national speedway team. Arthur Dennis Sigalos (born August 16, 1959) is an American former professional motorcycle speedway rider. He earned 52 caps for the United States national speedway team. Career Born in Garden Grove, California, Sigalos was a rising star in speedway racing during the late 1970s. Sigalos served notice that he was a coming rider when he finished third in the 1980 American Final held on a makeshift track at the Anaheim Stadium in Los Angeles (the meeting was held on November 16, 1979), only missing a place in the Intercontinental Final when beaten in a runoff. Earlier in 1979 Sigalos had made his debut in the British Leagues after signing with the Hull Vikings. He stayed in Hull for two years before joining the Ipswich Witches from 1981 to 1983. The Vojens Speedway Center is a Motorcycle speedway track located in Vojens, Denmark. The track has been part-owned since its opening by Denmark's first three time Speedway World Champion Ole Olsen.
