Lana Lawless
Lana Lawless (born in 1953) is a professional golfer. Lawless is a transgender woman and underwent gender reassignment surgery in 2005 before playing golf professionally. She became a professional title-holding golfer and received recognition for filing a lawsuit against the LPGA, Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) in 2010 for her right to compete as a woman in the women's long-drive championship. Career Before Gender transitioning, transitioning to female and changing her name to Lana Lawless, she was a gang unit cop for the City of Rialto in Southern California. A professional golfer is somebody who receives payments or financial rewards in the sport of golf that are directly related to their skill or reputation. A person who earns money by teaching or playing golf is traditionally considered a "golf pro", most of whom are teachers/coaches. LPGA Qualifying Tournament
In professional golf, the term qualifying school is used for the annual qualifying tournaments for leading golf tours such as the U.S.-based PGA and LPGA Tours and the European Tour. A fixed number of players in the event win membership of the tour for the following season, otherwise known as a "tour card", meaning that they can play in most of the tour's events without having to qualify. They join the leaders on the previous year's money list/order of merit and certain other exempt players as members of the tour. Getting through the qualifying school of an elite tour is very competitive and most professional golfers never achieve it. A trans woman or transgender woman is a woman who was assigned male at birth. Trans women have a female gender identity and may experience gender dysphoria (distress brought upon by the discrepancy between a person's gender identity and their sex assigned at birth). Bobbi Lancaster (born June 23, 1950) is a family physician, champion golfer, author, human rights advocate, and motivational speaker. She garnered international media attention in 2013 while attempting to qualify for the LPGA Tour as a transgender woman. Early life Bobbi Lancaster was born on June 23, 1950, in Chatham, Ontario, Canada. Her father, Douglas Lorne Lancaster, was a high school graduate and World War II U.S. paratrooper and later worked for Revenue Canada. He died in 1984.
