Lampeter Town RFC
Lampeter Town Rugby Football Club is a rugby union team from the town of Lampeter, West Wales. The club is a member of the Welsh Rugby Union and is a feeder club for the Llanelli Scarlets. Lampeter is believed to be the first town in Wales to field a rugby union team when in 1850 the Reverend Professor Rowland Williams brought the game with him from Cambridge to St. David's College, Lampeter. Although no evidence exists of the origination of Lampeter RFC as a separate club team from Lampeter College there is written proof of a match in the ''Western Mail'' between the college team and a Lampeter club in 1879. Lampeter
Lampeter (; cy, Llanbedr Pont Steffan (formal); ''Llambed'' (colloquial)) is a town, community and electoral ward in Ceredigion, Wales, at the confluence of the Afon Dulas with the River Teifi. It is the third largest urban area in Ceredigion, after Aberystwyth and Cardigan, and has a campus of the University of Wales Trinity Saint David. At the 2011 Census, the population was 2,970. Scarlets
The Scarlets () are one of the four professional Welsh rugby union teams and are based in Llanelli, Wales. Their home ground is the Parc y Scarlets stadium. They play in the United Rugby Championship and the European Rugby Champions Cup (which replaced the Heineken Cup from the 2014–15 season). The club was originally named the Llanelli Scarlets but was renamed at the start of the 2008–09 rugby season. WRU Division Three West
The Welsh Rugby Union Division Three West (also called the SWALEC Division Three West for sponsorship reasons) is a rugby union league in Wales. Competition format and sponsorship Competition There are 12 clubs in the WRU Division Three West. During the course of a season (which lasts from September to May) each club plays the others twice, once at their home ground and once at that of their opponents for a total of 22 games for each club, with a total of 132 games in each season. Teams receive four points for a win and two point for a draw, an additional bonus point is awarded to either team if they score four tries or more in a single match. No points are awarded for a loss though the losing team can gain a bonus point for finishing the match within seven points of the winning team. Morriston Rugby Football Club is a rugby union team from the village of Morriston, Swansea in West Wales. The club is a member of the Welsh Rugby Union and is a feeder club for the Ospreys. The club was founded in 1876 and has produced a number of established Welsh internationals, such as Paul Moriarty, Richard Moriarty, Ross Moriarty. John Strand-Jones
John Strand-Jones (2 December 1877 – 3 April 1958) was a Welsh rugby union player, who represented the Wales national rugby union team on five occasions in 1902 and 1903. His profession was in the clergy of the Anglican Church. Life Strand-Jones was born on 2 December 1877 in Caio, Carmarthenshire. He was educated at St David's College, Lampeter, at Jesus College, Oxford, from 1898 to 1901, graduating B.A. in 1899, and finished his theological training at St Michael's College, Aberdare. He played rugby for Oxford University RFC in 1899 at centre and in 1900 and 1901 at fullback. He made his debut for Wales in the Home Nations Championship against England on 11 January 1902, playing at fullback and scoring a penalty. He also created one of the tries for Wales.
