Brad Lamm
Brad Lamm (born 1966) is the founder of the residential trauma clinic and residential campus Breathe Life Healing Center, an American interventionist, educator and author of many books including ''How to Help the One You Love: A New Way to Intervene'' (2010). ''How to Help'' details the theory and practice of a system of psychosocial invitation-based intervention named "Breakfree Intervention", which trains and utilizes "voices that matter" (the friends and family of an identified loved one) as an ongoing "support circle". He owns and operates Intervention.com as a family resource for those seeking help to intervene to help one they love with agency locations in New York City, Cape Cod and Los Angeles. Lamm is also the author of ''Just 10 Lbs'' (2011), a self-help book on the diet-obsessed public's "need to feed" and what he describes as “emotional eating” in the face of mounting evidence of the dangers of restrictive eating, fad diets and binge eating trends. Ole Lamm
Ole Albert Lamm (December 25, 1902 in Gothenburg – August 14, 1964 in Stockholm), was a Swedish physical chemist whose research included diffusion and sedimentation phenomena. Lamm was a graduate student under Nobel Prize laureate The Svedberg at Uppsala University and received his doctorate in 1937 with the thesis ''Measurements of concentration gradients in sedimentation and diffusion by refraction methods: Solubility properties of potato starch''. In 1945, he was appointed professor of theoretical chemistry, from 1953 physical chemistry, at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. Lamm introduced the Lamm equation which describes the concentration distribution of solutes resulting from sedimentation and diffusion under ultracentrifugation in typical sector-shaped cells. In 1957, he was elected a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences and in 1958, a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. At the occasion of his 60th birthday in 19 ... Lowe Alpine Mountain Marathon
The Lowe Alpine Mountain Marathon (or LAMM) is a two-day fell running and orienteering race held in the Scottish Highlands each June. Teams of two run and navigate over mountainous terrain, carrying all their gear for an overnight wild camp. LAMM has six classes of competition: Elite, A, B, C, D and Score. Over the two days, the elite competitors complete a course of approximately 70 km with 4000m of ascent over challenging terrain. The event location is kept secret until 48 hours before the start, and competitors do not know where the route will take them until they cross the start line. Teams are then given a series of grid reference checkpoints which they must navigate to and choose a route between. LAMM is often considered to be the smaller cousin of the Karrimor International Mountain Marathon, the original event of this kind. Unlike KIMM, competition for places is not so fierce on LAMM and most who apply get a place first time. LAMM calls itself the Connoisseurs ... Lamm Equation
The Lamm equationO Lamm: (1929) "Die Differentialgleichung der Ultrazentrifugierung"'' Arkiv för matematik, astronomi och fysik'' 21B No. 2, 1–4 describes the sedimentation and diffusion of a solute under ultracentrifugation in traditional sector-shaped cells. (Cells of other shapes require much more complex equations.) It was named after Ole Lamm, later professor of physical chemistry at the Royal Institute of Technology, who derived it during his Ph.D. studies under Svedberg at Uppsala University. The Lamm equation can be written: : \frac = D \left \left( \frac \right) + \frac \left( \frac \right) \right- s \omega^ \left r \left( \frac \right) + 2c \right where ''c'' is the solute concentration, ''t'' and ''r'' are the time and radius, and the parameters ''D'', ''s'', and ''ω'' represent the solute diffusion constant, sedimentation coefficient and the rotor angular velocity, respectively. The first and second terms on the right-hand side of the Lamm equation are pro ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Casa Lamm
The Casa Lamm Cultural Center is the best known landmark in Colonia Roma. It was a house built in the early 20th century when Colonia Roma was a new neighborhood for the wealthy leaving the historic center of Mexico City. Today, it hosts numerous exhibits as well as offering classes, even degrees, in art and literature. History Casa Lamm was a project to rehabilitate one of the old mansions which was supported by local authorities. The house was originally constructed as part of Colonia Roma, which was a development in the late 19th and early 20th century on a former horse farm owned by Pedro Lascurain. While Lascurain was part of the project initially, Lewis Lamm took over in 1914, building houses for the wealthy moving out of the city center. The house itself was finished in 1911 situated on Alvaro Obregon Street #99 where it still stands. Like ...
