Ashton Lambie (born December 12, 1990) is an American Track cycling, track cyclist known for being the first person to complete an individual pursuit in under 4 minutes, and for his moustache. Career Lambie Cycle sport#Gravel racing, races on gravel in Kansas. In October 2015, he set the World Ultracycling Association record for cycling across his home state of Kansas from West to East. This record was surpassed a few months later in May 2016. In his debut at the Track National Championship, Lambie won the Individual Pursuit, and finished second in the omnium and points race. Alex Lambie
Alexander Lambie (15 April 1897 – 26 February 1963) was a Scottish footballer who played as a centre half. Career Club Although he began his career with Ayrshire teams including Kilmarnock, Lambie featured primarily for Glasgow club Partick Thistle where he spent a decade (all in the top division), making 325 appearances for the ''Jags'' in all competitions and scoring 17 goals, having been brought in during 1921 as a replacement for Willie Hamilton, the regular of the past decade who had died of tuberculosis. He played in the 1930 Scottish Cup Final which Partick lost to Rangers after a replay, but did manage to claim winner's medals in the Glasgow Merchants Charity Cup in 1927 and the one-off Glasgow Dental Hospital Cup in 1928, both against the same opponents. David Lambie
David Lambie (13 July 1925 – 15 December 2019) was a Scottish Labour Party politician. Lambie was educated at Ardrossan Academy and at the University of Glasgow and Geneva University. He became a teacher and was chairman of the Scottish Labour Party from 1965 to 1966. Lambie contested North Ayrshire and Bute in 1955, 1959, 1964 and 1966. He was Member of Parliament for Central Ayrshire from 1970 until 1983, and after the boundary changes of that year, for Cunninghame South from 1983 until his retirement in 1992. On 13 July 2015 Lambie celebrated his 90th birthday. In popular culture Lambie was portrayed by Renny Krupinski in the 2002 BBC production of Ian Curteis's controversial ''The Falklands Play''. John Lambie (engineer)
John Lambie was a Scottish engineer. He was born in Saltcoats, Ayrshire, on 29 October 1833 and died in Glasgow on 1 February 1895. He was Locomotive Superintendent of the Caledonian Railway from 1891 to 1895. Career John Lambie became Locomotive Superintendent of the Caledonian Railway on 1 April 1891. He came from a railway background as his father had been Traffic Manager of the Wishaw and Coltness Railway until it was absorbed by the Caledonian Railway in 1848. Innovations John Lambie improved conditions for enginemen by fitting cab doors, better handrails and footsteps to locomotives. He improved on Dugald Drummond's 4-4-0 design in 1894 and he introduced condensing steam locomotives of the 4-4-0T and 0-4-4T types for underground lines. John Lambie (2 March 1941 – 10 April 2018) was a Scottish football player and manager. Lambie made over 200 appearances for Falkirk and also had a successful time with St Johnstone. After retiring as a player, Lambie had four spells as manager of Partick Thistle. In his third spell, he guided them to consecutive promotions and entry to the Scottish Premier League in 2002, while also leading them to the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup in the same year. He also had spells as manager of Hamilton Academical (twice, winning the First Division in 1986) and Falkirk. Lambie was known for his eccentricity, cigar smoking and fondness for pigeons. An occasion when he instructed for a concussed player to be told he was Pelé and sent back onto the pitch is one of the most famous quotes in British football. Patrick Jonathan Lambie (born 17 October 1990) is a retired South African professional rugby union player who last played for in the French Top 14. He announced his retirement in January 2019 due to multiple concussions. Early life Lambie attended school at Clifton Preparatory in Durban before attending Michaelhouse from 2004 to 2008. He played SA schools rugby in both grade 11 and matric (grade 12). He was head boy and captained both the rugby and cricket team in his final year at Michaelhouse. He also holds a British passport.
