Lakshmi Vandhachu (film)
''Lakshmi Vandhachu'' () is a 1986 Indian Tamil-language comedy drama film directed by Rajasekhar. The film stars Revathi in the title role along with Sivaji Ganesan and Padmini. It is a remake of the 1980 Hindi film ''Khubsoorat''. The film was released on 1 November 1986. Plot Rajeshwari is the strict disciplinarian of the family that keeps everyone under her control – particularly her husband Rajasekhar. Her four sons live by her rules without question. When her second son marries, his new wife's younger sister Lakshmi comes to stay with the family. Lakshmi's carefree and easy going attitude endears her to the family but puts her at odds with Rajeshwari. Raja, the family's third son and Lakshmi also fall in love. One of Lakshmi's pranks pushes Rajeshwari to her limit and creates fissures in the family. A crisis eventually sets things in motion to solve all the problems. Rajasekhar (director)
Subramanian (??? – 24 April 1991), known professionally as Rajasekhar () was an Indian film director and screenwriter who was active mainly in Tamil cinema during the 1980s. He also directed films in Telugu language, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. Early life and career Rajasekhar was born as Subramanian in Nattarasankottai in the then Ramanathapuram district and was a Bachelor of Science graduate. Prior to his entry in films, he was working in government department and few people encouraged him to write scripts as they felt he had a creator in him thus he wrote story for the 1977 release ''Naam Pirandha Mann''. It was Rajinikanth who gave Subramanian the name Rajasekhar. He worked as assistant director to M. A. Kaja and Rama Narayanan. He made his directorial debut with ''Hunnimeya Rathriyalli'' in Kannada based on their story while ''Kanneer Pookkal'' was his debut in Tamil. Ganga (actor)
Ganga (1960 – 10 November 2023) was an Indian actor who appeared in Tamil language films as a leading and supporting actor. Career Ganga made his acting debut through ''Kadavulukku Oru Kaditham'' (1982), portraying a supporting role. His career breakthrough came through T. Rajender's romantic drama ''Uyirullavarai Usha'' (1983), where he portrayed a lead role alongside Rajender and Saritha. The film won critical acclaim upon release, and performed well at the box office. In the mid-1980s, Ganga continued to take on a mix of lead and supporting roles in the Tamil film industry. Other notable films that he proceeded to work on included ''Karaiyai Thodatha Alaigal'' (1985), '' Lakshmi Vandhachu'' (1986) and ''Meendum Savithri'' (1996). Death Ganga died on 10 November 2023 aged 63 after suffering a cardiac arrest. Ganga did not marry and lived with his brother's family until his death. ''Kalki'' is a Tamil-language weekly magazine published from Chennai, India. The magazine was established by Kalki Krishnamurthy, a popular Tamil novelist and Indian freedom fighter, in 1941. T Sadasivam was the magazine's co-founder. The magazine is known for its publication of historic novels such as '' Ponniyin Selvan'' and '' Sivagamiyin Sabadham''. Singer Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer, guru of M S Subbulakshmi, and music critic S V Seshadri were also involved with the magazine in its coverage of music. Kalki Krishnamurthy also edited the magazine, which is published on a weekly basis. During his term the magazine was much more respected due to its quality. The magazine ceased publication in 1977, but resumed in June 1978. Subha (writers)
Subha is the name used by the writing partnership of D. Suresh and A. N. Balakrishnan, who write stories, detective novels and screenplays in Tamil. Work The duo began co-authoring stories when they were in college together, and have been publishing their work since 1979. They have published more than 450 short novels and more than 400 short stories. Most of their detective novels feature the characters Narendran and Vaijayanthi of Eagle Eye Detective Agency, and their coworker John Sundar. Other characters created by Subha are Selva and Murugesan, who also feature in their detective stories, and John Sembaruthi, who is a character in some of Subha's novels set in the army. They wrote film reviews for the magazine ''Kalki'' under the pseudonym "Jayamanmadhan". They have also written screenplays and dialogues for Tamil films and television serials. ''The Indian Express'' is an English-language Indian daily newspaper founded in 1932 by P. Varadarajulu Naidu. It is headquartered in Noida, owned by the ''Indian Express Group''. It was later taken over by Ramnath Goenka. In 1999, eight years after Goenka's death in 1991, the group was split between the family members.
