Lakeshore is a municipality on Lake Saint Clair (North America), Lake St. Clair, in Essex County, Ontario, Essex County, Ontario, Canada. It was incorporated in 1999 by amalgamating the Town of Belle River with the township (Canada), townships of Maidstone, Rochester, Tilbury North, and Tilbury West. It is the largest and the most populous municipality within Essex County, Ontario, Essex County. However, it is part of the Windsor, Ontario, Windsor census metropolitan area. Lakeshore has a significant concentration of French Canadians and is one of only four communities in Southern Ontario (excluding Eastern Ontario) in which more than 5% (the provincial average) of the population is francophone. Lakeshore Village Entertainment, LLC was an American independent film production, finance, and former international sales and distribution company founded in 1994 by Tom Rosenberg and Ted Tannebaum. Lakeshore Entertainment is headquartered in Beverly Hills, California. The company produced over 60 films, including the Academy Award-winning '' Million Dollar Baby'' (2004). Sigurjón Sighvatsson was the company's first president and served from its founding until 1998. He was replaced by producer Gary Lucchesi. In 2013, Lakeshore launched a television division, and in 2015, they launched a digital studio, Off the Dock, that targets the YouTube demographic. Lakeshore Soccer Club is a Canadian semi-professional soccer club based in the Montreal suburb of Kirkland, Quebec. The club competes in the Ligue2 Quebec, returning to the semi-pro league system in 2025 after previously competing in the Première Ligue de soccer du Québec from 2015 to 2016. History The club was originally founded in 1966. The club was originally set to join the Première Ligue de soccer du Québec for the 2012 season as one of the founding members, although that did not occur. Lake Shore Gill (1900 – July 5, 1969) was a botanist and forest pathologist for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He was a definitive authority on the genus ''Arceuthobium''. Career Gill received his bachelor's degree from Stanford University in 1922, and his master's in 1931. He earned his Ph.D. from Yale University in 1934. In the 1930s, he began studying ''Arceuthobium'' species in the American Southwest, specifically the effect of forest infestations. In 1935, Gill published the monograph, "''Arceuthobium'' in the United States", which was a seminal treatment of dwarf mistletoe taxonomy and research. Gill pursued a career with the USDA starting in 1923. Lakeshore is a development of flats in the Bishopsworth area of south Bristol, England. It is a Grade II listed building. The building uses a structure of Weathering steel, Cor-Ten Steel which is left from the headquarters building of Imperial Tobacco which was built in the 1960s. The tobacco factory and offices closed by 1990 and were partially demolished, before being given listed status and then left for ten years. The surrounding factory has been demolished and is now the site of a shopping centre. Lake Shore High School is a high school located in the lakefront community of St. Clair Shores, Michigan, United States. The school, a part of Lake Shore Public Schools, serves grades 9–12. The nickname for Lake Shore is the Shorians. Lake Shore High School offers training in CAD, dental careers, web design and video production along with college advanced placement classes and dual enrollment. Extracurriculars Sports Lake Shore is best known, athletically, for the 1993 and 1994 boys' basketball team that went 26–1 and 28–0, respectively, and winning the Class B State Championship in 1994.
