''Ladyhawke'' is the debut studio album by New Zealand singer and songwriter Ladyhawke. It was released on 19 September 2008 by Modular Recordings. Featuring production by Pascal Gabriel, Greg Kurstin, Kid Gloves, Kish Mauve's Jim Eliot, Paul Harris and Van She's Michael Di Francesco, the album incorporates 1980s-influenced new wave and synth-pop, as well as indie rock. It was promoted by five singles: " Back of the Van", " Paris Is Burning", " Dusk Till Dawn", "My Delirium" and " Magic". ''Ladyhawke'' received generally positive reviews from music critics, who commended Ladyhawke for her ability to reproduce the music of the 1980s. Ladyhawke (musician)
Phillipa Margaret "Pip" Brown (born 13 July 1979), better known by her stage name Ladyhawke, is a New Zealand singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. She took her stage name from Richard Donner's 1985 film ''Ladyhawke (film), Ladyhawke''. Brown was part of the Wellington-based band Two Lane Blacktop (2001–2003), before moving to Australia where, in 2004, she formed the art rock band Teenager (band), Teenager with Nick Littlemore of Pnau. In 2007 she moved to London, around 2013 to Los Angeles, and then subsequently relocating back to her native New Zealand after the release of her third album, Wild Things (album), ''Wild Things''. The Official Aotearoa Music Charts, formerly the Official New Zealand Music Chart (), is the weekly New Zealand top 40 singles and albums charts, issued weekly by Recorded Music NZ (formerly Recording Industry Association of New Zealand). The Zapper is an electronic light gun accessory launched within the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in North America on October 18, 1985. It is a cosmetic redesign by Nintendo of America's head designer Lance Barr, based on Gunpei Yokoi's , which had been released in Japan for the Famicom on February 18, 1984. The Zapper requires compatible NES games, such as '' Duck Hunt'', '' Wild Gunman'', and '' Hogan's Alley''. The microKORG is a MIDI-capable digital synthesizer/vocoder from Korg featuring Digital signal processing, DSP-based virtual analog, analog modelling. The synthesizer is built in such a way that it is essentially a Korg MS-2000 with a programmable Arpeggiator, step arpeggiator (the MS-2000 has only six simple patterns), a less advanced vocoder (8 bands instead of 16 bands on the MS-2000), lack of motion sequencing (MS-2000 had three motion sequences), lack of an XLR microphone input, and in a smaller case with fewer real-time control knobs. Sarah Larnach
Sarah Larnach is a Grammy-nominated visual artist from New Zealand and Australia. She is best known for her collaborations with musicians, creating single artworks, Grammy and ARIA nominated album covers and packaging, tour art and music video contributions. Career Sarah Larnach started her career in 2007 by creating artwork for New Zealand musician and best friend Ladyhawke. For a time, Larnach and Ladyhawke were in a relationship. In 2008, Larnach worked on the video for "My Delirium" by Ladyhawke, directed by UK duo, Frater.
