"Lady Soul" is an R&B, R&B song recorded by legendary Motown group The Temptations for their 1986 album To Be Continued... (Temptations album), ''To Be Continued''. The mid-tempo ballad has Ali-Ollie Woodson praising his "lady" for warming his "heart" and making him "whole". Described as "super" by AllMusic critic Ron Wynn, "Lady Soul" was one of the last Temptations single to make the Top Ten on the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, R&B Chart. The single peaked at #4 on the Soul Charts and #47 on the US Billboard Hot 100, Hot 100. A cliffhanger or cliffhanger ending is a plot device in fiction which features a main character in a precarious or difficult dilemma or confronted with a shocking revelation at the end of an episode or a film of serialized fiction. A cliffhanger is hoped to incentivize the audience to return to see how the characters resolve the dilemma. Some serials end with the caveat, "To Be Continued" or "The End?". In serial films and television series the following episode sometimes begins with a recap sequence. Soul music is a popular music genre that originated in the African American community throughout the United States in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Ballad
A ballad is a form of verse, often a narrative set to music. Ballads derive from the medieval French ''chanson balladée'' or '' ballade'', which were originally "dance songs". Ballads were particularly characteristic of the popular poetry and song of Britain and Ireland from the Late Middle Ages until the 19th century. They were widely used across Europe, and later in Australia, North Africa, North America and South America. Ballads are often 13 lines with an ABABBCBC form, consisting of couplets (two lines) of rhymed verse, each of 14 syllables. Ali-Ollie Woodson (born Ollie Creggett; September 12, 1951 – May 30, 2010) was an American R&B singer, musician, songwriter, keyboardist, drummer, and occasional actor best known for his twelve years with the Temptations alongside Otis Williams. He also worked with Aretha Franklin, Jean Carn, and Bill Pinkney. Early life and career Woodson was born September 12, 1951 in Detroit, Michigan, and was raised in Town Creek, Alabama.
