Lady Danville
Lady Danville was a Los Angeles–based indie pop band that officially formed in 2007 and disbanded in 2012. History Michael Garner (keys, vocals), Matt Frankel (percussion, vocals) and Dan Chang (guitar, vocals) met at UCLA in 2005 while singing together in the premiere collegiate music group Awaken A Cappella. In 2006, under the name of Mikey G and Dan from Danville, Michael and Dan took part as a duo in UCLA's Spring Sing talent competition, the school's oldest music tradition, where they won with their song “Cast Away” for Best Duet and Best Overall Entry. Past winners have included Sara Bareilles and Tyrone Wells. In the beginning of 2007, the duo sought out Matthew Frankel, ultimately leading to the inception of Lady Danville. In the fall of 2007, Lady Danville won the annual Star 98.7 Lounge Contest with their song “Tired Magician” and was featured on the Star Lounge Compilation CD with artists including John Mayer, Maroon 5 and Pink. Westwood is a commercial and residential neighborhood in the northern central portion of the Westside (Los Angeles County), Westside region of the city of Los Angeles, California. It is the home of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Hunter Hunted (band)
Hunter Hunted is an American indie pop band from Los Angeles, California. The group is composed of Michael Garner (keyboards, vocals) and Dan Chang (bass, vocals). The group's music, described as melodic dance infused pop, spans many genres. History Garner and Chang formed the group in December 2012 after the dissolution of their former band Lady Danville. KCRW DJs Chris Douridas and Jason Kramer soon began playing their song "Keep Together", as did KCSN DJ/LA Buzz Band blogger Kevin Bronson. The band went on to play their first show, at the Troubadour in Los Angeles. With the support of the newfound radio and blog buzz the show sold out a week in advance. After the success of the Troubadour show, the band was asked to play on Conan O'Brien's late-night show on February 27. The Swiss Army Romance
''The Swiss Army Romance'' is the debut studio album by American band Dashboard Confessional, released in March 2000 by Fiddler Records. Release It was released through Fiddler Records in March 2000, limited to 1,000 copies. A decision was made shortly afterwards to sell the album to Drive-Thru Records. Drive-Thru re-released the album on November 14, 2000. In 2003, the rights to the record were sold to Chris Carrabba and Vagrant Records and the album was re-issued on April 22, 2003. Indie Pop
Indie pop (also typeset as indie-pop or indiepop) is a music genre and subculture that combines guitar pop with a DIY ethic in opposition to the style and tone of mainstream pop music. It originated from British post-punk in the late 1970s and subsequently generated a thriving fanzine, Independent record label, label, and club and gig circuit. Compared to its counterpart, indie rock, the genre is more melodic, less abrasive, and relatively angst-free. Christopher Lane Conley (born February 29, 1980) is an American musician who is the lead-singer/rhythm guitarist of the rock band Saves the Day. He is the only remaining original member as well as major artistic contributor. Background Conley formed a band with a group of classmates at Princeton Day School.
