Ladislav Hagara
Ladislav Hagara (born January 15, 1944) is a Slovak mycologist, writer and author of mycological publications. He held the position of the Chairman of the Slovak Mycological Society of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, and described a new fungal species variety. Biography Hagara graduated in journalism at the Faculty of Arts of the Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia in 1968. However he was banned from pursuing his profession as a journalist on ideological grounds—based on articles he wrote protesting the 1968 Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia, he was registered as a "hostile person" by the ŠtB secret police. Instead he worked as an editor and a director of a publishing house. In 2003, he successfully defended his dissertation on the topic of ''The Hyphodontia Genus in Slovakia (Basidiomycota, Corticiaceae)''. Infundibulicybe Gibba
''Infundibulicybe gibba'' (also known as ''Clitocybe gibba'') is a species of gilled mushroom which is common in European woods. In English it is sometimes known as the common funnel. Naming This species was originally described by the mycologist Christiaan Hendrik Persoon in 1801 as ''Agaricus gibbus'', at a time when gilled mushrooms were generally all assigned to genus ''Agaricus''. Then in 1871 in his guide to mycology ("Der Führer in die Pilzkunde"), Paul Kummer allocated the species to the genus ''Clitocybe'', which previously (according to the system of Fries) had only been a tribe within genus ''Agaricus''. In 2003 Harri Harmaja created the new genus ''Infundibulicybe'' for some of the larger members of the former ''Clitocybe'' and he included ''Infundibulicybe gibba'' as the type species. The International Plant Names Index (IPNI) describes itself as "a database of the names and associated basic bibliographical details of seed plants, ferns and lycophytes." Coverage of plant names is best at the rank of species and genus. It includes basic bibliographical details associated with the names. Its goals include eliminating the need for repeated reference to primary sources for basic bibliographic information about plant names. The IPNI also maintains a list of standardized author abbreviations. These were initially based on Brummitt & Powell (1992), but new names and abbreviations are continually added. Description IPNI is the product of a collaboration between The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew ( Index Kewensis), The Harvard University Herbaria (Gray Herbarium Index), and the Australian National Herbarium ( APNI).
