The Vagabond (novel)
''The Vagabond'' () is a 1910 novel by the French writer Colette. It tells the story of divorced woman Renée Néré, who becomes a dancer in music halls in order to support herself. It was inspired by Colette's experiences after her own separation from Henry Gauthier-Villars in 1906 and subsequent divorce in 1910. Synopsis Renée Néré is introduced in her music-hall dressing room anxiously preparing for a performance. It is revealed that Renée and her husband have divorced after eight years of her husband’s faithlessness and cruelty, and that Renée has been struggling to support herself as a music-hall performer for the past three years. She checks her make-up in the mirror, then goes to perform, confident and controlled. Renée’s life as an artist is described: her work as a dancer, her casual relations with her fellow performers, the small apartment that she shares with her maid, Blandine and her dog Fossette, and her introduction to Maxime Dufferein-Chautel. The channel documents the couple's life aboard their sailing tri-maran ''La Vagabonde''. , the channel had over 1.85 million subscribers and is the most popular sailing YouTube channel. In November 2019, they received significant media attention for sailing Greta Thunberg onboard ''La Vagabonde'' from Virginia to Lisbon for the 2019 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Madrid. History The channel was founded in 2014 after Whitelum and Carausu met in Greece. The couple sustains their sailing by producing a weekly video blog on YouTube that is also funded by income from the crowdfunding web site Patreon. Le Vagabond
''The Littlest Hobo'' () is the Canadian television series based upon a 1958 American film of the same name directed by Charles R. Rondeau. The series first aired from 1963 to 1965 in syndication, and was revived for a popular second run on CTV, spanning six seasons, from October 11, 1979, to March 7, 1985. The concept of the show was that of "an ownerless dog". All three productions revolved around an extremely intelligent stray German Shepherd, the titular Hobo, who wanders from town to town, helping people in need (all portrayed by actors in celebrity guest appearance roles). Despite the attempts of the many people whom he helped to adopt him, he heads off by himself at the end of each episode. Referred to as "Gulliver" in a single episode, the dog is often referred to by the name Hobo or by the names given by temporary human companions.
