La Fetra Mansion (New Jersey)
La Fetra Mansion located in Summit, New Jersey, United States, is a mansion designed and built for industrialist H. A. LaFetra of the Royal Baking Powder Company (known today as NJR Nabisco Company) by Henry Bacon (November 28, 1866 – February 17, 1924), the same year he founded his architectural firm, Brite and Bacon. He is best known for his last work, the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. Since its completion in 1899, this mansion has been owned by industry leaders. The home, with of living space on the first two floors, and more than on the third floor, was featured in the September 1901 issue of ''Architecture Magazine'', the professional journal of the industry. Henry Bacon
Henry Bacon (November 28, 1866February 16, 1924) was an American Beaux-Arts architect who is best remembered for the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. (built 1915–1922), which was his final project. Education and early career Henry Bacon was born in Watseka, Illinois. He studied briefly at the University of Illinois, Urbana (1884), but left to begin his architectural career as a draftsman. He worked in the office of McKim, Mead & White in New York City, one of the best-known architectural firms. The Lincoln Memorial is a U.S. national memorial built to honor the 16th president of the United States, Abraham Lincoln. It is on the western end of the National Mall in Washington, D.C., across from the Washington Monument, and is in the form of a neoclassical temple. The memorial's architect was Henry Bacon.
