La Crosse Loggers
The La Crosse Loggers are a La Crosse, Wisconsin based baseball team playing in the Northwoods League, a collegiate summer baseball league. Since the team's inaugural season in 2003, they have played at Copeland Park. The ballpark is nicknamed "the Lumberyard." The team is owned by Dan Kapanke, a former Wisconsin State Senator. The Loggers are one of 22 teams in the Northwoods League, playing 72 games per season, from late May through mid-August. The Northwoods League is a summer collegiate league that provides an opportunity for college players to spend their summers and display their talents to professional scouts. Players must be enrolled in college and have at least one year of athletic eligibility to participate. Brett Jackson
Brett Elliott Jackson (born August 2, 1988) is an American former professional baseball center fielder who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Chicago Cubs and Arizona Diamondbacks between 2012 and 2014. Jackson played college baseball at the University of California, Berkeley, and has also competed for the United States national baseball team. Eric Allyn Thames ( ; born November 10, 1986) is an American professional baseball first baseman and outfielder who is currently a free agent. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Toronto Blue Jays, Seattle Mariners, Milwaukee Brewers, and Washington Nationals, and in the KBO League for the NC Dinos and in the Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) for the Yomiuri Giants. Tyler Douglas Smith (born July 1, 1991) is an American former professional baseball infielder. He played in Major League Baseball for the Seattle Mariners. Career Amateur Smith attended Thousand Oaks High School in Thousand Oaks, California and played college baseball at Oregon State University.
