Joan Manuel Serrat Teresa (; born 27 December 1943) is a Spanish musician, singer, and composer. He is considered one of the most important figures of modern, popular music in both Spanish and Catalan languages. Serrat's lyrical style has been influenced by other poets such as Mario Benedetti, Antonio Machado, Miguel Hernández, Rafael Alberti, Federico García Lorca, Pablo Neruda, and León Felipe. Tragic Week (in Catalan ''la Setmana Tràgica'', in Spanish ''la Semana Trágica'') (25 July – 2 August 1909) was a series of violent confrontations between the Spanish army and anarchists, freemasons, socialists and republicans of Barcelona and other cities in Catalonia, Spain, during the last week of July 1909. It was caused by the calling-up of reserve troops by Premier Antonio Maura to be sent as reinforcements when Spain renewed military-colonial activity in Morocco on 9 July, in what is known as the Second Rif War. Many of these reservists were the only breadwinners for their families, while the wealthy were able to hire substitutes. Teresa Gimpera
Teresa Gimpera i Flaquer (21 September 1936 – 23 July 2024) was a Spanish film and television actress and model of the 1960s and 1970s. Biography Teresa Gimpera Flaquer was born in Igualada, province of Barcelona, on 21 September 1936. Her parents were both teachers, and grew up in the Sant Andreu neighbourhood of Barcelona. Her first job was with Leopoldo Pomés as an advertisement model. She later made her film debut in '' Fata Morgana'' (1965). She went on to star in numerous films throughout the 1960s and 1970s. She married Octavio Sarsanedas, who worked in advertising at the Seix Barral publishing house. They had three children, Marc, Job, and Joan. In 1990, she married U.S. actor Craig Hill; he had moved to Barcelona, Spain where he had found work in Spaghetti Westerns. They were married for 24 years until Hill's death in April 2014.
