The Civil Aviation Authority of Colombia (, also known as ''Aeronáutica Civil'', ''Aerocivil'' or UAEAC) is a government agency of the Colombian Ministry of Transport. It is the agency in charge of regulating civil aviation, the aviation industry, and of managing the Colombian airspace. Amazonas (Colombian Department)
Amazonas () is a department of Southern Colombia. It is the largest department in area while having the third smallest population among the departments. Its capital is Leticia and its name comes from the Amazon River, which drains the department. It is made up entirely of Amazon Rainforest territory. The southern portion of the department, south of the Putumayo River, is called the "Amazonian Trapeze", which includes the triple border of Colombia, Peru and Brazil, and its southern limit is the Amazon River. Araracuara Airport is an airport serving Araracuara, Colombia, Araracuara, in the Caquetá Department of Colombia. Araracuara was the site of a former penal colony for Colombia's worst and most dangerous criminals.
