L Paung Sho (; also spelt L Phaung Sho) is a Burmese politician and former educational staffer who currently serves as MP in the Kayah State Parliament for Mese Township constituency No. 2. He previously served as Chief Minister of Kayah State, as the head of Kayah State Government. Early life and education L Paung Sho was born on 5 February 1979 in Lawpita Shan Village. Burmese names () lack the serial structure of most Western names. Like other Mainland Southeast Asian people (except Vietnamese), the people of Myanmar have no customary matronymic or patronymic naming system and no tradition of surnames. Although other Mainland Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia introduced the use of surnames in early 20th century, Myanmar never introduced the use of surnames and lacks surnames in the modern day. The president of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar () is the head of state and constitutional head of government of Myanmar. The president chairs the National Defence and Security Council and normally leads the Cabinet of Myanmar, the executive branch of the Burmese government, though the military prime minister leads the cabinet under the current state of emergency. Khin Maung Oo (; also known as Bu Reh) was the Chief Minister of Kayah State, Myanmar. He served as Chief Minister of Kayah State from 2011 to 2016 and August 2021 to January 2022 under Thein Sein and PM Min Aung Hlaing. He was appointed as the Chairman of Kayah State Administration Council, sub-council of State Administered Council, from February 2021 to 1 August 2021. Htin Kyaw (, or ; born 20 July 1946) is a Burmese politician, writer and scholar who served as president of Myanmar from 30 March 2016 to 21 March 2018. He was the first elected president to hold the office with no ties to the military since the 1962 coup d'état. Kayah State Hluttaw () is the legislature of the Burmese state of Kayah State. It is a unicameral body, consisting of 20 members, including 15 elected members and 5 military representatives. As of February 2016, the Hluttaw was led by speaker Hla Htwe of the National League for Democracy (NLD). The first election for Kayah State Hluttaw was held in November 2010 and all seats elected were from USDP.
