The Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra ( or LVSO) is one of Lithuania's two national orchestras, founded in 1988. Lithuanian National Opera And Ballet Theatre
Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre (LNOBT) (), founded as Operos vaidykla, is an opera house and ballet theatre in Vilnius, Lithuania. History Operos vaidykla was founded in 1920 by the Society of Lithuanian Creators of Art in the temporary capital of Kaunas, in the building now known as the Kaunas State Musical Theatre (opened in 1892). The premiere, Verdi's '' La Traviata'', was performed on 31 December of that year, which is now regarded as the anniversary of the theatre. The first ballet, Léo Delibes' '' Coppélia'', was performed on 4 December 1925. Many artists of the theatre moved to the west during World War II before the second Soviet occupation in 1944. Gintaras Rinkevičius
Gintaras Rinkevičius (born February 20, 1960) is a Lithuanian people, Lithuanian conductor, who was awarded the Lithuanian National Prize for Culture and Arts in 1994. In 1989 he founded the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra. Life and career Rinkevičius graduated from Lithuania's M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts, from the Saint Petersburg Conservatory in 1983, and from Moscow Conservatory, Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory in 1986. In 1985 he won the Herbert von Karajan Fund International Competition for Conductors in Berlin. Between 1996 and 2003, he served as the Latvian National Opera’s artistic director and chief conductor; he was also chief conductor at the Malmö Opera and Music Theatre from 2002 to 2005. Wilhelm Richard Wagner ( ; ; 22 May 181313 February 1883) was a German composer, theatre director, essayist, and conductor who is chiefly known for his operas (or, as some of his mature works were later known, "music dramas"). Unlike most opera composers, Wagner wrote both the libretto and the music for each of his stage works. The ''Flying Dutchman'' () is a legendary ghost ship, allegedly never able to make port, but doomed to sail the sea forever. The myths and ghost story, ghost stories are likely to have originated from the Dutch Golden Age, 17th-century Golden Age of the Dutch East India Company (VOC) and of Dutch Empire, Dutch maritime power. The oldest known extant version of the legend dates from the late 18th century. According to the legend, if hailed by another ship, the crew of the ''Flying Dutchman'' might try to send messages to land, or to people long dead. Oskaras Koršunovas is a Lithuanian theatre director. Biography Oskaras Koršunovas was born in Vilnius, Lithuania. He began his career as a theatre director in 1994 at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, where he obtained his master's degree in directing. Dalia Ibelhauptaitė
Dalia Ibelhauptaitė (born 4 May 1967) is a Lithuanian opera and theatre director and producer, a television producer and former playwright. Biography Dalia Ibelhauptaitė was born in Vilnius in 1967, and became a director at the age of 15 when she formed the Young Theatre Company in Lithuania. At the Young Theatre Company, Dalia worked as a director and playwright until 1985 when she became assistant director at the Vilnius State Theatre. She trained at the Russian Drama Academy ( GITIS) in Moscow with renowned Russian theatre director Mark Zakharov. In 1990, she directed ''To Damascus'' at the Moscow Lencom Theatre. Vytautas Bacevičius
Vytautas Bacevičius (9 September 1905, in Łódź, Poland Russian_Empire.html" ;"title="hen Russian Empire">hen Russian Empire– 15 January 1970, in New York City, United States) was a Lithuanian composer of radical and modernistic leanings. Most of his works are in an atonal idiom of his own devising. He developed a theory of 'cosmic music' and came to regard Schoenberg's 12-note music as out-dated, regarding himself as a successor to Scriabin, André Jolivet and Varèse. Bacevičius studied in Łódź with, among others, Kazimierz Sikorski and moved to Kaunas in Lithuania in 1926. In 1927 he went to Paris, where he studied composition with Nikolai Tcherepnin and graduated from the Paris Conservatory in 1928.
