LRT Line 2
The Light Rail Transit Line 2, also known as LRT Line 2, LRT-2, or Megatren, is a rapid transit line in Metro Manila in the Philippines owned and operated by the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA). The line generally runs in an east–west direction between in Manila and . The line is officially referred to as the Purple Line. Although commonly known as LRT-2, the line is a high capacity heavy rail line that uses large metro cars which are longer and wider than those used on the PNR network and roughly the same size as those used on the MTR in Hong Kong, instead of the light rail vehicles used in earlier lines. Until the opening of MRT Line 7 in late 2025, it will be the country's only line that uses these types of trains. LRTA 2000 Class
The LRTA 2000 class is a class of electric multiple units in operation on the LRT Line 2, manufactured by Hyundai Rotem, Rotem and Toshiba. A total of seventy-two cars configurable to eighteen train sets were manufactured from 2002 to 2003 under the fourth package contract of the initial construction of Line 2. Automatic Train Operation
Automatic train operation (ATO) is a method of operating trains automatically where the driver is not required or is required for supervision at most. Alternatively, ATO can be defined as a subsystem within the automatic train control, which performs any or all of functions like programmed stopping, speed adjusting, door operation, and similar otherwise assigned to the train operator. Antipolo, Rizal
Antipolo, officially the City of Antipolo (), is a component city and capital of the province of Rizal, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 887,399 people. The Metro Rail Transit Line 7, also known as MRT Line 7 or MRT-7, is a rapid transit line under construction in the Philippines. Antipolo Station
Antipolo station, formerly known as Masinag station, is the current eastern terminus of the Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) system.
