The ''Dokdo''-class amphibious assault ship (, ) is a class of landing platform helicopter (LPH) amphibious assault ships operated by the Republic of Korea Navy (ROKN). Designed and built by Hanjin Heavy Industries (HHIC), the amphibious landing ships were meant to enhance South Korea's amphibious operation capability, both in terms of assault and military operations other than war (MOOTW). Development The ROK Navy required a versatile landing ship with amphibious capabilities in its program to build a blue-water navy. Liepāja International Airport is a regional airport in western Latvia which is certified for international air traffic. Along with Riga International Airport and Ventspils Airport, it is one of the two major airports in Latvia. Overview Liepāja International Airport is situated in South Kurzeme Municipality, east of Liepāja, from the capital of Latvia, Riga, and from the Lithuanian border. The territory of the airport covers and is integrated within the Liepāja Special Economic Zone. On September 20, 2016, the airport was recertified for handling commercial flights after a gap of eight years. On December 5, 2016, airBaltic conducted a test flight from Riga to Liepāja using their Bombardier CS300 aircraft. LPX (form Factor)
LPX (short for Low Profile eXtension), originally developed by Western Digital, was a loosely defined motherboard format ( form factor) widely used in the 1990s. There was never any official LPX specification, but the design normally featured a motherboard with the main I/O ports mounted on the back (something that was later adopted by the ATX form factor), and a riser card in the center of the motherboard, on which the PCI and ISA slots were mounted. Due to the lack of standardized specification, riser cards were seldom compatible from one motherboard design to another, much less one manufacturer to another. The internal PSU connector was of the same type used in the AT form factor. One of the more successful features to come out of the LPX specification was its use of more compact power supplies, which later became widely used on Baby AT and even full size AT cases. Network Direct Attached Storage
Network Direct Attached Storage (NDAS) is a proprietary storage area network system, originally marketed by the company Ximeta, for connecting external digital storage devices such as hard-disks, flash memory and tape drives via the Ethernet family of computer networks. Unlike other more common forms of networked storage, NDAS does not use TCP/IP to communicate over the network. Instead a Lean Packet Exchange (LPX) protocol is used. NDAS also supports some limited RAID functions such as aggregation and mirroring. History In 2001, Han-gyoo Kim of Korea and Zhe Khi Pak of Russia applied for a US patent on a "network-attached disk". By 2002 the first NetDisk (up to 80 GB) was marketed as a low cost alternative to full computer based network storage options. The Ximeta company was founded in 2003.
