LPRT
The Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour is the latest name for the women's professional racquetball tour. It features the world's best players and several events each season - running from September to May - that are mostly played in the USA. History Women's professional racquetball has existed since the 1970s but the women's pro tour began in 1980, when the Women's Professional Racquetball Association (WPRA) was created. The tour was run by International Management Group, and did well in the early 1980s in part due to the great rivalry between Lynn Adams and Heather McKay. The WPRA lasted until 1994, when the Women's International Racquetball Tour (WIRT) was created. In 2000, the United States Racquetball Association (USRA) took over administration of the WIRT, and renamed it the Ladies Professional Racquetball Association (LPRA). Paola Longoria
Paola Michelle Longoria López (born 20 July 1989) is a Mexican racquetball player. She is the current Women's World Champion in Singles and the Team event, winning both divisions at the International Racquetball Federation (IRF) 2024 World Championships in San Antonio, Texas. Longoria is the most winning player in IRF World Championship history, and she is the only woman to win both singles and doubles at Worlds. Longoria is also the #1 player on the Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour (LPRT) tour, and was the first Mexican woman to attain the #1 pro ranking, doing so at the end of the 2008–09 season. She repeated the feat at the end of 2009–2010 season, and has been #1 for ten consecutive seasons. Alexandra Herrera
Alexandra Herrera (born January 10, 1995) is a Mexican racquetball player. She is the current World Champion in Women's Doubles (with Montserrat Mejia). A left-handed player, Herrera was the #2 player on the Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour in 2020-21 and again in 2021–22, two of her nine seasons in the LPRT top 10. Junior years - 2010-2014 Herrera played for Mexico at the 2010 International Racquetball Federation (IRF)] World Junior Championship in Los Angeles, California, losing in the quarterfinals of U14 Girls Singles to Natalia Mendez, 9–15, 15–7, 11–8. US Open Racquetball Championships
The UnitedHealthcare US Open Racquetball Championships is the premier professional racquetball event. It is a Grand Slam event with men and women competing from the International Racquetball Tour and Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour, respectively. Beginning in 2014, the US Open added a pro doubles division. The US Open also has divisions for amateur players, and hundreds of people participate each year. Overall, there were 708 participants in 2021, and 732 participants in 2019. The 2021 UnitedHealthcare US Open was October 6–10 in Minneapolis, which was the 11th year since the event began in 1996 that it was in the Twin Cities. Frédérique Lambert
Frédérique T. Lambert (born March 27, 1992) is a Canadian racquetball player. Lambert is the current Canadian Champion in Women's Singles and Women's Doubles, and has won eleven Canadian Championships: six in Women's Singles and five in Women's Doubles. She has been a member of the Canadian National Team since 2008, and has won several medals in international competitions, including a silver medal in Mixed Doubles at the 2022 World Championships. Erika Manilla (born February 1, 1998) is an American racquetball player. Manilla is the current Pan American Games Champion in Mixed Doubles, winning gold with her brother Adam at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile. She also won doubles at the 2022 US Open Racquetball Championships with Natalia Mendez, and has won six USA Racquetball (USAR) National titles (2 singles, 3 doubles, 1 mixed doubles). Mejía is the current World Champion in Women's Doubles (with Alexandra Herrera), and helped Mexico win gold in the Women's Team event at the 2024 World Championships in San Antonio, Texas. Cristina Amaya Cassino (born 28 October 1988) is a Colombian racquetball player. Amaya finished the 2017-18 Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour (LPRT) season as the 8th ranked player, which was her eighth consecutive season in the top 10 (first was the 2010-11 season). She was the third South American player to be in the women's pro top 10 after Angela Grisar and Veronica Sotomayor. Professional career Amaya has been playing the women's pro tour since 2009. Rhonda Rajsich
Rhonda Rajsich (born October 7, 1978) is an American racquetball player. She has been World Champion in Women's Singles twice, and Pan American Champion 6 times (4 times in Women's Singles & twice in Women's Doubles), as well as US Open champion four times. Rajsich was the #1 player on the Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour season ending rankings four times – three straight seasons from 2005–06 to 2007-08 and then again in 2010–11. She is of Serbian descent. Junior career Rajsich played racquetball several years as a junior with some success, although most of it came in doubles. Susana Acosta (born 8 December 1976) is a Mexican racquetball player. A left handed player, Acosta has won several gold medals for Mexico, including at the 2003 Pan American Games. She's also played on the Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour (LPRT) and been ranked as high as 4th (in 2012-13). Career begins - 1998-2006 Acosta began playing the women's pro tour in 1998, when she played at the US Open Racquetball Championships for the first time, losing to Jackie Paraiso in the Round of 16. Samantha Salas Solís (born 15 December 1986) is a Mexican racquetball player. Salas has won six World Championship titles in her career - five in Women's Doubles (all with Paola Longoria) and one in Mixed Doubles (with Rodrigo Montoya). She has also won six Pan American Games gold medals: three in Women's Doubles and three in the women's team event. Kerri Wachtel (born Kerri Stoffregen, November 9, 1974) is a retired American racquetball player. Wachtel was the #2 women's professional player at the end of the 2006–2007, and was #5 at the end of the 2008-09 Women's Professional Racquetball Organization season. She is a former US Open Champion. Career Professional Wachtel was a top 10 player on the women's pro tour every season between 2000–01 and 2013–14, except for 2005-06 when she took some time off to have children. But upon her return to competition she had arguably her best season as she reached a career high in the rankings, finishing #2 behind Rhonda Rajsich in 2006-07.
