Lietuvos Krepšinio Lyga
Lietuvos krepšinio lyga (LKL; ), also known as Betsafe LKL for sponsorship reasons, is the premier men's professional club basketball league in Lithuania. It is composed of 10 teams, and it is a member of the Lithuanian Basketball Federation. The best LKL clubs are also annual participants of the top European-wide basketball competitions, including the top-tier level EuroLeague. On April 22, 1993, the Lietuvos krepšinio asociacija (LKA; ) was founded. It was the first professional sports organisation in Lithuania. Lietuvos krepšinio lyga was built on the foundation of the LKA. Former basketball player Šarūnas Marčiulionis is named as the founder of the league. He was the first president of the LKL and served from 1993 to 2002. Remigijus Milašius is the current president of the league since 2013. The league's headquarters is located in Vilnius. Simas Jasaitis
Simas Jasaitis (born 26 March 1982) is a Lithuanian professional basketball player. He also represented the Lithuanian national basketball team. Professional career Jasaitis' first team in the LKL was Sakalai during the 2000-2001 season. In the fall of 2001 he moved to Lietuvos rytas, and played there till 2006. In his first season with the club he was averaging 8 points and 3.6 rebounds per game. Jasaitis returned to Lietuvos Rytas on 31 December 2010. In July 2011 he signed a one-year deal with Türk Telekom B.K. On 5 January 2015 he went back to Lietuvos rytas. On 5 July 2016 he signed with Victoria Libertas Pesaro. On 28 July 2017 Jasaitis signed with BC Lietkabelis. On 12 September 2020 he signed with BC Dzūkija. Kšyštof Lavrinovič (; born 1 November 1979) is a Lithuanian former professional basketball player. During his playing career, he played at the power forward and Center (basketball), center positions. Jonas Valančiūnas ( ; ; born 6 May 1992) is a Lithuanian professional basketball player for the Sacramento Kings of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was selected by the Toronto Raptors with the fifth overall pick in the 2011 NBA draft. He has also played for the Memphis Grizzlies, New Orleans Pelicans, and Washington Wizards. BC Šiauliai () is the professional basketball club of Šiauliai, Lithuania. The club competes in the Lithuanian Basketball League. Mindaugas Kuzminskas (born 19 October 1989) is a Lithuanian professional basketball player and the captain (sports), vice-captain for AEK B.C., AEK Athens of the Greek Basketball League (GBL). Charles Patrick Eidson Jr. (born October 10, 1980), commonly known as Chuck Eidson, is an American former professional basketball player.
