LGV Interconnexion Est
The LGV Interconnexion Est is a French high-speed rail line that connects the LGV Nord, LGV Est, LGV Sud-Est and LGV Atlantique through suburbs of Paris. Opened in 1994, it consists of three branches, which begin at Coubert: * west branch: towards Paris and western France, terminating at Valenton joining LGV Atlantique at Massy TGV. * north branch: towards northern France, London and Brussels, joining the LGV Nord at Vémars * south branch: towards southeastern France, joining the LGV Sud-Est at Moisenay The south and west branches are now shared with the LGV Sud-Est line. Maximum line-speed throughout is 300 km/h (186 mph). Route Starting from the south (LGV Sud-Est or LGV Atlantique), the line begins at Coubert junction and heads northeast. LGV Atlantique
The LGV Atlantique (French: ''Ligne à Grande Vitesse''; English: Atlantic high-speed line) is a high-speed rail line running from Paris (Gare Montparnasse) to Western France. It opened in 1989–1990 and comprises two stations: Massy TGV station and Vendôme-Villiers-sur-Loir TGV station. It divides into two parts at Courtalain, one going westward to Le Mans (towards Brittany and Pays de la Loire), the second one going southwestward to Tours (and onward towards Nouvelle-Aquitaine). Both branches have been extended, by the LGV Bretagne-Pays de la Loire and the LGV Sud Europe Atlantique. Route The line leaves Gare Montparnasse to cross Paris's southern suburbs, partly under the Coulée Verte. This is a tunnel above which footpaths and recreational areas have been created, to reduce the effect of the LGV running through the area. Disneyland Paris is an entertainment resort in Chessy, France, east of Paris. RER A
RER A is one of the five lines in the Réseau Express Régional (English: Regional Express Network), a hybrid commuter rail and rapid transit system serving Paris, France and its suburbs. The line crosses the region from east to west, with all trains serving a group of stations in central Paris, before branching out towards the ends of the line. Coulommiers, Seine-et-Marne
Coulommiers () is a commune in the Seine-et-Marne department in the Île-de-France in north-central France. It is also the name of a cheese of the Brie family produced around that city. Coulommiers station has rail connections to Tournan-en-Brie and Paris. The town has a statue to Commandant Nicolas-Joseph Beaurepaire who, in 1792, killed himself rather than surrender Verdun to the Prussians. Tournan-en-Brie (, literally ''Tournan in Brie''), or simply Tournan, is a commune in the Seine-et-Marne department in the Île-de-France region in north-central France. It is located in the Paris metropolitan area.
