The Swedish Civil Aviation Administration () is a Swedish government agency which regulated and oversaw all aspects of aviation in Sweden until 2005. The regulatory division was called (Civil Aviation Authority). The Air Navigation Service Provider (ANSP) () was established as (LFV). The agency had its head office in Norrköping. In 2005 the regulatory division was separated to a new agency named ''Luftfartsstyrelsen'', from 2009 part of the Swedish Transport Agency. On 1 April 2010, the airport ownership and operation part of the ''Luftfartsverket'' was transferred to Swedish Airports (Swedavia AB), a newly formed fully state-owned company. Swedavia AB is a Swedish state-owned company, which owns and operates ten of airports of Sweden, Sweden's busiest airports. It has its head office at the air traffic control tower of Stockholm-Arlanda Airport in Sigtuna Municipality near Stockholm. It was formed on 1 April 2010, when the Civil Aviation Administration (Sweden), Swedish Civil Aviation Administration was split up, and all commercial airport operation was transferred to Swedavia. Air navigation services continue as a state enterprise under the name LFV (Civil Aviation Administration). In 2010, the number of employees was about 2,600. The government agencies in Sweden are state-controlled organizations that act independently to carry out the policies of the Government of Sweden. Air traffic control (ATC) is a service provided by ground-based air traffic controllers who direct aircraft on the ground and through a given section of controlled airspace, and can provide advisory services to aircraft in non-controlled airspace.
