LEPAC
LEPAC was founded by Jean-Christophe Victor and Virginie Raisson in 1992, as a private, independent think tank based in France and specialised in international geopolitical analysis and foresight studies. The acronym LEPAC stands for ''"Laboratoire d'études prospectives et d'analyses cartographiques"'', translated in English as ''"Foresight Studies and Cartographic Analysis Laboratory"''. LEPAC was created to develop geopolitical and cartographic analysis in France and, from the onset, has produced all the studies in support of a geopolitical educational television program broadcast by Franco-German channel Arte. Since its creation in 1992, the centre has expanded the scope of its activities and the research conducted today addresses divers topics and areas of interest for the future of mankind. Jean-Christophe Victor
Jean-Christophe Victor (30 May 1947 – 28 December 2016) was a French political scientist focusing on international relations. He was the son of the polar explorer Paul-Emile Victor and the television producer Éliane Decrais. He earned master's degrees in Chinese at the National Institute for Oriental Languages and Civilizations, and in political sciences at the University of Paris-1 (1982), as well as a PhD in ethnology on Nepal. He was posted as a diplomat in Afghanistan, worked as policy adviser at NATO in Brussels, and for the Policy Planning Office at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was the founder and the director of LEPAC, the Center for Political Studies and Cartographic Analysis, a Paris-based think tank. Arte (, , ; ' ('), sometimes stylised in lowercase or uppercase in its logo) is a European Union, European public service Television channel, channel dedicated to culture. TV5Monde (), formerly known as TV5, is a French public television network, broadcasting several channels of French-language programming. It is an approved participant member of the European Broadcasting Union. The network is available across Europe on satellite via Astra 19.2°E and Eutelsat Hot Bird (13°E) (both free-to-air), online and via TVPlayer. Summary TV5 started on 2 January 1984 and was under the management of Serge Adda until his death in November 2004. The next director from 6 April 2005 was Jean-Jacques Aillagon, a former French Minister for Culture and Communication. The director-general is now Marie-Christine Saragosse. In January 2006, TV5 underwent a major overhaul, including rebranding as "TV5Monde" to stress its focus as a global network ("Monde" is French for "World"). ''Virginie'' is a French-language Canadian television series that aired Monday through Thursday on Radio-Canada (the French-language CBC television network). It debuted in 1996. The show examined the public and private lives of teachers, students, and families at the fictional Sainte-Jeanne-d'Arc high school. It frequently dealt with controversial social topics, such as teen drug use, ethnic prejudice, divorce, and other subjects touching on contemporary Quebec life. "Virginie" was a ''téléroman''-style drama that often used "cliffhangers" in the storylines. It aired 120 episodes per year of 30 minutes each. The series was produced and largely written by Fabienne Larouche. Virginie ended in December 2010 after 15 years on air; the last episode aired on December 15, 2010.
